You need the Water to keep you hydrated and to give the fat a vehicle to leave your body. Also, your body is traumatized... It might not want to work properly. Also search for 3 week stall.. Mini stall that happens in the third week... You might just be an early bloomer :)

I have mostly been drinking Gatorade G2 and I finish about 24oz of that in a day. And then I drink either 8 or 12 oz Protein Shake (depending on which one I do). So I am getting about 30

Grams of Protein in daily. I know not nearly enough but I just haven't been able to tolerate much more than that. I do try to add a little more each day.

I am thinking this is the reason for my early stall as my body is saying WTH are you doing to me.

The same thing happened to me. Your doing it right by not forcing yourself to have more. Add a little more protein and liquid each day and you will keep losing weight. Good luck

So frustrated...looks like I am an early staller. Day 10 Post Op - 247

Day 11 - 247

Day 12 - 245.5

Day 13 - 246

Day 14 - 246

Oh and weight of surgery was 262. I am happy that I have lost but so discouraged that my stall happened so soon :( Praying it doesn't last much longer!!! This is all on liquid diet too and I know I am not getting enough fluids in so I am going to try like heck to get that up and see if it helps.

I'm right there with you. I lost 20 lbs in one week pre-op and then about 9 lbs the first week. In the last two weeks, I've gained back 3 lbs, despite hitting my Protein and Water intake goals daily, staying under 800-1000 calories every day, and adding back exercise.

I KNOW it's frustrating, and believe me, I've whined about it. But I am going to follow the advice I am going to give you - Stay the course, and it will come off. Your body is just adjusting to all these new changes, and it will give up the lbs sooner than later!

Hang in there!

Don't worry. You are one pound ahead of schedule. Don't weigh yourself every day. It can cause stress like this. Just stay the course. And hydrate.

Best wishes,

Ainslee

Hello Guys! I am day 9 today and totally took a turn for the worst! I was doing great and getting my energy back. Yesterday I got all my Protein in and walked for an hour and felt like myself again. Then this morning I had so much pain and was exhausted! Slept most of the day and I feel like poo! Struggled to get my protein in and finally broke down and went to smoothie king to get up to my 60. Is it normal to fluctuate so much energy and pain wise?

Anyway, on another note I have lost weight.

I am 29 and 5'7

Day of surgery: 240

1 week out: 226.8 - 13.2 pounds down

Day 9 today: 222.8- 17.2 pounds down

Hey guys havent been here in a couple of weeks since moving around trying to leave Afghan to get home. Well I had my surgery on the 26th and it was hell. I went into surgery during the day around 2 but because of so much scare tissue and a herniated esophagus it took about 4 hours. I was so tired and wanted to vomit everything. However' date=' everything went well I think the worst part for me was the drain I was unable to take really deep breaths because of it which caused a lot of pain. I kept my drain up until the day I went home just to be on the safe side. That morning when they took it out, its like all the pain went away I was up walking, taking deep breaths, bending over and everything with no problems. I have to say the other thing I didnt like to much is when I went in for surgery I had gotten down to 233 from 241 now Im up to 245???? I will deal with it. Anyhow things have been kind of crazy a lot of head hunger but I been ignoring it. I mostly eat Popsicle since I have to be on Clear Liquids for 4 weeks instead of the normal week, it sucks but anything to get better. I havent been able to walk very fast but I been going to Walmart and walking around for like an hour just to get some exercise in...lol..Anyhow just wanted to check in hope everybody is doing well...Take care

Continue to get well..

Hi! My name is Jamie. I live in Michigan. I had my surgery on 11-26-12. I had to do the 6 month pre authorization diet per my insurance company. I was successful. I lost 50 pounds, with the help of Adipex, Topamax and determination. I have PCOS so one of my goals once I get the "all clear" in a year or two is to have another child. My husband and I have one beautiful daughter, she is 5 we adopted her. We were there from the second she was born. The moment she was "out" the nurses handed her to us and she's been ours ever since. We tried fertility treatments, with no success but I was at my highest weight and I had a fertility Dr that cared more about money than my health. I realized after 18 months of never ovulating it just wasn't going to happen. So we quit. I was 368#s.

Today I am in a much healthier place in my life, I tried and succeeded with weight watchers and got down to 320-325. But I just hovered there. That's when my Dr and I decided on the VS.

My pre 6 month weight was 314

My pre surgery weight was 264

I am very excited to see what the future holds.

Just a quickie: I just got out of hospital today after being sleeved on the 29th. I am not to drink Water with meals. 1/2 hour before or after. Need to save the space for Protein. I also had poor lung inhalations and was told to sleep on my side not my back. It was manageable. I am eating puree now and will be for 3 weeks. Then on to the soft diet. I am doing very well I think. Hope everyone else that was sleeved in November with me is doing as well. Stay strong and be well.

Hello all! I just stumbled across this thread and thought I would introduce myself. I had revision surgery (lap band to sleeve) on Saturday, November 10 in Juarez, Mexico with Dr. Jose Rodriguez. He was the doctor who also performed my lap band. So far I'm doing pretty well and am at 3 weeks out. I'm on soft foods for another week. I had a bit of a stall this week, but I'm thinking that I haven't been eating enough and will try and add some small meals of Protein or a shake while upping my walking. I'm at a total of 19 pounds (including the 1.5 # on my pre-op low carb diet which I did loosely). I'm pleased with this and hope to be at my goal within a year. Look forward to encouraging and being encouraged by all of you November 2012 sleevers!!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
