Sleeve 8/15- Hate This Liquid Diet!

Recommended Posts

HELLO EVERYONE MY NAMES JESSICA IM 25 -5'10" and I weigh 347 lbs - My highest ...which I'm not proud of considering my husband only weighs 176 and he's 6'4"... NEWHOO... I started this liquid diet 2 days ago and all I've ate is chicken broth, Jello, and Water. I'm really hating it since my stomach is still "normal" size so I'm craving everything bad. Soooo any advice on what I can do to help this week? Any food advice? Mental advice?

Stick with it. The first 3 or so days are the hardest for most per op diets.. Be sure to get your fluids up and use the time to prepare what you will need post surgery. Your life is about to change :-)

Hi! I have surgery the day after you. I start my pre op diet tomorrow. I have to have Meal Replacement shakes as well as that other stuff you are currently having. Can you ask about that? Might fill you a bit more?? Much luck. You can do it!

My surgery is tomorrow and the liquid diet has been horrible lol! The Protein Shakes help, but I don't really care for them. I found going to the pool/hot tub helped relax me and keep my mind off food. Good luck to you!

My surgery is 8/15 also, the liquid diet is hard. I also was told I could do any of the following 1 egg, or salad with petite shrimp, 5oz chicken breast, it really has helped I have that in the am after I have had 1 Protein Drink earlier. I have not been able to drink 5 Protein Drinks a day. I get 2 or 2 1/2 down. but sticking to my guns. I was shocked I had lost weight the last week. I did not think I had lost anything. Good Luck!!

I'm on day 3 pre op diet and my surgeon suggested 2 Meal Replacement shakes (breakfast and lunch) and a low calorie/low carb sensible dinner- not exceeding 1000 cal each day. I've been doing well except I've had Breakfast as my meal instead of dinner a few times. Also I've had Jerky a few times to curb my hunger and drinking Water like crazie. Saturday I was 282- today I was 276... So whatever I'm doing must be working. My surgeon says I could do whatever weight loss plan works for me as long as I lose it's not a big deal! I'm getting sleeved 8/17- and so freaking excited!!! ;) good luck to you!

I had no post op diet. I did it at 225kg, now , 5 month later i weight 181 kg.

I enjoyed the liquid phase, at least i was not hungry at all, and did not fantasize about food like pre op.

It seems that the anterior wall of stomack, which generates the grehlin hormone, was responsible for most of my food fantasizing.

Good luck and enjoy

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
