Around - super impressed with your bulk out and overall body conditioning! I wish I had the genes to do that. :)

I wish I had the genes to do that. :)

Genetics really is such a HUGE factor! I wish I had the awesome gene too... I struggle to gain muscle (I know girls don't gain muscle like testosterone fueled men, but I feel I struggle more than the typical female). I've finally become more consistent with my nightly casein (hate the flavor or texture, but I paid too much money and I'm going to going finish it!) and I've seen a slight difference. I shall see how it goes...

Anyway...I hear you Fiddle! You're looking great by the way!

Thanks Curvy - I work out really hard, take my rest day, eat a ton of Protein (almost 200 g) and am not bulking out past a certain amount. My weight also seems to be stuck at average of 175. This is good for my height (5'11") and I am really athletic fit, but all I want for Christmas is some lean muscle and muscular bulk. :) how hard does this need to be? I mean my caloric load is 2000+ a day, eating every couple hours, lifting really heavy a couple times a week, doing brutal hiit strength training on the other days and I still cannot seem to gain any more weight or lean muscle. Ok, whining over. :)

Lol! Rant away...I know EXACTLY how you feel! My husband was blessed with the awesome gene; lifts once or twice a week, eats like crap, yet has lean, big, and bulky muscle... Frankly, it pisses me off! Lol!

Thanks Curvy/Fiddle! Not going to lie, I am able to put on muscle (and lose it quickly with big cal deficit and cardio), but I also hit the weights pretty hard, with the exception of cutting back slightly the past two months. I also try and eat to support the lifting. I eat a lot smarter to get the most from my lifting. Before surgery, I lifted, and just ate everything in sight.....and crappy foods. Wish I knew then what I know now about nutrition....and even lifting some as well. I have some good genes and bad genes (early baldness and family heart/blood pressure history), but I guess you just play with the hand you're dealt. Fiddle.....hang in there.....work hard, eat right and be patient.......you'll get there bud.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
