when did your hair start falling out?

how much did you lose?

when did it start growing back?

what products did you use to help?

i had surgery 7months ago & ive lost 6/8 of my hair. i used to have beautiful full thick long hair. now its very thin & ive even lost length. my hair fell out in chunks!!

i use biosil drops, Biotin pills, excessive hairloss Shampoo & conditioner & a super hair gro grease. the grease seems to be working but not fast enough lol. i was watching dr oz & he mentioned something called black currant. ill be buying those too!!! im going to overdose myself on everything possible to jump start this hair process & stop it from falling out so much! ive also upped my protein!

i also did a video on my sleeve journey vlog on youtube where i show you a chunk of hair that came out of my head!

I think all the special potions for preventing Hair loss and getting new hair to grow in are a waste of money. Companies are still looking for a "cure" for hair loss. Look at all the bald men around. If there were an answer, the airwaves would be bursting with ads about it.

Hey im 7 months out too my hair started falling out about 4 mths ago in clumps too the Dr told me to watch my protien intake because if ur not getting enough protien it causes hairloss...I started tracking my protien better I get between 90-100grms a day which may seem like a lot but id rather have more then less drink lots of Water I started taking Biotin pills and using Dr miracles tingling Shampoo and conditioner..I still get some strands falling out but nothing like before and ive gotten about 2 in of new hair growing in..hope this helps good luck :)

Were you really sick for awhile too?? Our bodies are responding to alot of stress, and if you had a leak, that didn't help matters any. My nutritionist recommended the Biotin Vitamins but I had never seen any proof that they really worked( I am in the pharmaceutical field) I wonder if they work or is my body healing and getting better nutrition? My hair starting falling out about a month ago, I am also wondering when it will stop. All the more reason to fill up on protiens instead of any carbs! And I am taking the biotin just in case it does help!

i disagree. when i was younger, my hair never grew & i had a horrible bob cut that just wouldnt grow. i began using super hair gro & it grew down to my butt within a year. huge difference. i started using it again & it seems to be growing back.

Eat avocados every day!!!

"So the reason that the avocado is such a great food to help you with stomach fat is given here in 5 main points:

It contains nearly 20 Vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients

It contains Oelic acid which helps to reduce cholesterol levels in the blood

It has amazing healing properties in general for the skin, the blood, sexual problems, skin disorders and more

It will help to increase your resting metabolic rate which will help you lose stomach fat

It tastes great on just about anything!"

Vitamins

"Vitamin deficiency can cause hair loss or hair to grow slowly. Avocados are high in vitamins B and E, which work at the cellular level to protect and strengthen hair. Vitamin B is essential for Hair growth. Vitamin E helps repair damage on the scalp, which may slow or prevent hair growing. Healthy hair grows half an inch every month. Using avocado in a conditioner or as a hair mask are the best ways to promote regular hair growth."

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
