My Stomach Is Growling Or Gurgling?

I will be 4 weeks post-op on friday.... yesterday my stomach started growling and gurgling... this is after I eat...before I eat... when ever.. there isnt a specific time when this happens... but the growling triggers my head to think Im hungry... I listened to my head one time and over ate... I started burping and had chest pain which I assumed was from me being over full....

anyone else have this problem?? what does it mean?? when my stomach growls I do have a "hunger" feeling....

  • It could be gas or acid.. Do you take a PPI like pepcid or zantac? I'll be 4 weeks Friday too =) My tummy makes all kinds of noises too but only the moments before and after I eat.

No...im not taking anything...my doctor didn't prescribe me anything... This is a new thing in the past couple of days...

Something like pepsid helps. A lot of people have the pains that reminds them of hunger pains, or being full but a lot of time it's acid or even healing pains.

Strange but true your stomach has to heal from the inside and the outside and it does weird things and there's weird flips and flops and wave type feelings which is partly healing pains.

My sleeve sings to me all the time...lol! I think as long as you arent having any "issues" just hang in there. No need to take a acid reducer if you dont have heartburn.

My tummy did the same thing the first few days post op. now it doesn't do it anymore. But im taking some medicine for acid or something. I can't recall the name. Perhaps that'll help you too!

Mine was so loud the first few days after surgery (July 16), it scared my dog! It got better when I stopped the pain meds. I still have some gas, but it is getting better (and I hope that continues).
