Sitting Straight Up after being Banded

Ok, so I have a question..Today is the first day that I started back at work, (I work a desk job) and I am sitting here in my chair. Sitting straight up seems to bother me, like I can almost feel my port rubbing against my stomach? Also, feels like I can't take as deep a breath as I would like to. Has anyone else had this feeling? Any suggestions?

Some of that is the after effects of surgery. Did you doctor send you home with breathing exercises? Mine did and I remember that I really couldn't take deep breaths. I also couldn't sit up straight. I think everything is just tight and bruised. Find a comfortable position and don't worry about it. What you are describing sounds normal to me.

Hey guys! I think you are still swollen. It will take about 3 weeks to get back to "normal".

Also, there was just a comercial on TV for the band, they guy in it said he was back to work the next day - WHAT?! How is that possible?!

I am with you guys I cant take a deep breath, cough or sneeze. My back is still hurting post op and I was banded on the aug. 28th when will this go away????

Smitty, you and I were banded the same day and I feel the same thing. I adjusted my chair to lean back more. But still, after about 6 hours I so sore. I know it will get better, but right now it really bugs me.

I work at a desk all day long too. My first day back was pretty hard with the sitting and the gas. Yuo know not being able to pass it when needed. Well I went home in tears that evening becasue of the gas building up along with my port still uncomfortable needless to say I will never hold my gas in any more i go outside if make sure nobody is around and the discomfort of the port well I just started getting up and walking around the office more and that really helped. THis went on for about two weeks then I was completly back to normal.
