I'm nine days post op and I got the ok to exercise but I went for a walk today and just didn't have the energy to stay out to long. I am no where close to getting in 60g of Protein in, is it because I haven't done much and have to work my way up slowly? Not sure what to do but I'm sick of sitting around all weekend and doing nothing.

Low energy can be a symptom of not eating enough, or of dehydration, or of B12 deficiency, etc. I find that my energy level is blah when I don't take my B12 and drink enough Water, but I'm almost 11 months out. You're still recovering from major surgery, which might help account for your low energy level. Do what you can, drink your water, and try to get to your Protein goal. Your energy level will return with a vengeance soon!

Ok thanks its kinda depressing but I will get through it, I just waited so long to have surgery and never really thought to much about the recovery time I was hoping 1-2 weeks and I would be back to feeling good but that thought has so changed.

My doctor told me to stick to the walking and try to walk a little more each day even if it is only one house farther.

Mine was exhaustion from surgery & low Vitamins. Im sure lack of Protein & Water made it worse. I felt ready to collapse after small tiny walks & pre surgery i was doing 2 1/2 hours a day at the gym. I was freaked out. Just keep taking those small walks & eventually you will be feeling fabulous.

Pace yourself. 9 Days out is still new to the process! Just work on getting a little more Protein and a little more fluids and walking a little more every day... and every day you'll feel a bit better - promise!

You can't do too much as early out as you are. Listen to your body. If it says rest, then rest. Don't over do it. Your energy will increase with time. As far as Protein goes, that takes time. I don't think there were many getting in all their protein so early out. Heck, I'm 6 weeks and 4 days out and still struggle getting all mine in. Good luck to you!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
