Honey & Vinegar = Can It Stop Hair Loss?

Recommended Posts

So about a month ago I was at dinner with my sister and I noticed her hands didn't look dry (she's always had super dry skin) and her hair looked fuller/thicker...so I reached over and grabbed her hair and said what the heck have you done to your hair?!? She said "oh I've been drinking honey and vinegar..didn't I tell you?". Ummmm - NO! So for the last 3 weeks I've been drinking it....sure enough thicker hair and softer skin!!! No joke. So here's the receipe 1 Tablespoon Trader Joes Organic Raw honey and 1 Tablespoon Trader joes Organic UNFILTERED Apple Cider Vinegar...add to a 6-8oz of hot/warm Water, stir in and enjoy. I tried other brands but I'm telling you Trader joes is the best and it has to be UNFILTERED vinegar. The vinegar alkalizes in the body which is where the health benefits come in.

I really wanted to share this with everyone and also ask...do you think I can continue to drink immediately after sleeved?...will the vinegar be too strong? I'm hoping this might help with hair loss/thinning???

I would say not immediately after you get sleeved, but ask your surgeon. While honey and vinegar are wonderful on their own, your sleeve may not handle them well while it's healing (6-8 weeks). Plus, they are mostly sugar/carbs and depending on your guidelines, you may be restricting those for the first 3 months or so. However, I can say I love vinegar in all varieties and use it multiple times a week in moderation. We make our own vinaigrette for salads and artichokes. It doesn't bother my sleeve at all! I still limit the honey intake to just use in marinades for fish and chicken, with a rare drizzle on plain greek yogurt with fruit.< /p>

Apple cider vinegar is used to help the stomach produce more acid. My earlier nutritionist prior to surgery had me drinking 2TB before a meal because it was assumed I made too little acid. Since most surgeons put you on an acid reducer for at least the first few months, the ACV may not be recommended. Ask him his thoughts.

I love it now because I still get full after just 2oz of meat but if I then have some homemade vinaigrette with veggies or salad, we're talking 1TB, it will open up my appetite a little to get all my Protein in.

Just an FYI, my Hair loss has been very, very minimal. It's more like some thinning, but only I notice.

This is an old remedy for all kinds of ailments. My dad used honey and vinegar for his rheumatoid arthritis 40 years ago. Didn't do any good, but he tried.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
