well I did it! I got sleeved by Dr Ponce in TJ on the 14th!!!

my first night was horrible because I was dry heaving all night.. I don't wanna make anyone else nervous though because it isn't typical.. I react realllllly bad to anesthesia. Anyway today is MUCH better! just got my ice chips while my coordinator Trish took my mom out for tacos :) Tomorrow is leak test!

Hello!

I had my surgery on the 13 and I'm still in the hospital. I will be here until Sunday. if all goes well. My bladder has been asleep, they are hoping with the walking I've been doing will awaken it up. Hope everyone is doing good.

Well, had my sleeve done on Sept 11th, with a hiatal hernia repair which I was not expecting. I could not get anything down for the first 2 days, lots of nausea and vomiting. then yesterday I started swallowing and getting the liquids down but then I have constant heartburn and frequent hiccups. but I feel much better. I hope to be going home tomorrow.

Is anyone else dying for real food? I got some different kinds of Soups to strain just to get a different flavor. I haven't pushed my sleeve too much, so I'm not sure how much I can hold right now. So far, I've had some strained Soup and some greek yogurt. Anyone that's post-op, what did your first week of food after sleeve look like?

I found some squash Soup at Trader Joes that is SO yummy!! Also Tomato Soup is another fav. Throw in a little basil...mmmmm

Greek yogurt is another fav right now.

I tried adding some chicken Protein Powder to my creamy chicken soup but just couldn't do it after surg. I loved it before surg! Go figure.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
