I too have been having problems in this area. I used to go twice a day before surgery and now it is only once every few days and it is so frustrating. So I took some of this super dieters tea that my girlfriend had and I drank it. It worked a little bit' date=' but the next day I felt sick all day and was on the couch. I think I'm going to go with the Miralax.[/quote']

Super dieters tea is not a good thing to take to have a moment. I remember taking that once and had to be wheeled out of my building. That was the last time I took SDT!

Oh goodness, I remember those days! I was so uncomfortable, it was just awful. The only thing that worked for me was Milk of Magnesia, I think it may have save my life, LOL!

Milk of Magnesia worked wonders for me too! It didn't cause painful cramping either. Just stay home after you take it for awhile. Best a night I think

I saw something today that Dr. Oz says to drink aloe juice... Also might try taking out lactose... Many people do not realize this can be a symptom of lactose intolerance.

I had terrible problems at first...as in poop getting stuck 1/2 in 1/2 out and extricating pain, MOM was such a help and gave me explosive...but so well relieving diarrhea . Maintenance is 2 colace, 6 psyllium Fiber gal caps and a touch of miralax.b. psyllium is really for cholesterol.

I was wondering if anyone other sleevers had issues with constipation' date=' I was sleeved on June 21st and have been barely having bowel movements, I'm not uncomfortable yet, I tried colace without much success, I am still on mostly soft foods and liquids . The solid food and sometimes even my meds make me vomit .[/quote']

I was sleeved on 5/30/12 and I am dealing with that too :( still!! My nutritionist told me its the Protein shakes and that I don't drink enough Water. But I try to eat fiber rich foods, such as... Prunes. And I even started drinking " Smooth moves" tea. I sometimes go 3 or 4 days without a BM and then it's a major ordeal even then. :( its very uncomfortable and probably not healthy. I'm so glad you asked that question! At least you're not alone .

I was sleeved April 27th. I was still having problems then Saturday I made a smoothie with a Protein Shake, Greek yogurt and strawberries. And I had cherries for a snack. I went 6 times Sunday morning. Haven't gone since I tried Miralax again last night. MOM helped me too but my doc likes Miralax.

I use Miralax, nearly nightly.

Do you use the full cap dosage?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
