What Have You Lost Lately?

Recommended Posts

Finally something I'm not upset about losing!!! It will be a month this week since I was sleeved and here are a few things I have lost already... What about you... what have you lost?

  • one shirt size (down from 3x to 2x)
  • Pant sizes (down from a 40 to a 36)
  • A LOT of my chin and neck... I actually have a chin!!!! amazing
  • The need to stop at the top of a flight of stairs to catch my breath. I actually ran up one flight the other day and was amazed at how easy it was.
  • The urge to constantly have a snack in front of me. Seeing the weight come off truly helps you keep your goals in focus.
  • The pain in my right side. I used to get horrible pains in my right side under my ribs which I have attributed to my fatty liver... No more.. they are GONE.
  • An impending sense of doom. I used to feel so bad physically that I was sure I was going to have a heart attack any day. Those feelings are gone, I feel great and can't wait to hit that goal weight.
  • 50 pounds - that's 5 ten pound bags of potatoes, 10 5 pound bags of sugar, 44 bags of Oreos, any way you want to look at it, it's pretty cool to not have it around any longer.

I can't wait to lose even more things from my life. Can't wait to hear what you have lost.

Happy Monday!!!

I have lost ...

The shelf that was attached to my back side...I still have a booty...but not a huge shelf...

I found my chin again..

I lost my feet before my surgery..but low and behold...they are still there when I look straight down..I can see them again..and not just the toes ..the whole foot..

And I have lost what 8 1 gallon containers of fresh Water would approximately weigh in 3 months...if you want to do the math..I'll leave that up to you! If you don't want to do the math..just PM me and I will tell you!

This sleeve has been truly live giving to me...not only did it save me..it's given me my life back..an most definitely my control!

I have happily lost...

The fear of riding in go-karts. :) My son turned 15 yesterday and I actually got to race him in a go kart at a putt putt place. There was no fear of the seat belt not reaching. There was no fear that I wouldn't be able to get out of the darn car. :)

The fear of kayaking. Tried that on Saturday and low and behold my sheer girth did not sink it! Nor did it tip over.

72 pounds!

A couple pant sizes. Went from a size 20 to a now comfortable size 12!

Shirt sizes too. Went from 2X to a large.

The ability to shop in a plus size store! No more Lane Bryant or Avenue for me!

I agree with everyone on the board that says that the sleeve has saved their life. It so has done the same for me!

Happy Monday!

Ha! Lmao! I know and I so agree. They break eventually. Just keep working the sleeve.

Thanks for the laugh. I've been gaining and losing the same 2 1/2 pounds for quite some time so I know how you feel!

I lost my appetite and I hope I never find it again.

I wish I would have lost my appetite, but at least my sleeve keeps me in check.

Started at 296 in Jan. got sleeved 2 weeks ago and I this morning I weighed in at 270!!! I can't really tell yet with clothes, but the scale does not lie!! I actually went on a 3 mile hike and it had about 60 stairs an I am alive today to tell you about it :). I would love to be down 10 more pounds before oil go back to work in 1.5 weeks!

This was a really great thread! I don't have a surgery date....yet...but when I read posts like this, it can't happen fast enough. It really takes away some of the anxiety to see how well you have done. I started on this board just a couple of weeks before Gene1970 went in for his surgery. It's great to follow people through their journey. Thanks!

Hmm... I'll start with saying I've lost about 3 years. The last time I weighed what I weigh today was around this time 2009.

I don't really know how many sizes. I'm going to guess two or three. After the intiial Fluid loss (which was most of my up-front weightloss) I tend to lose about a size about every 20 lbs. I know my jeans that were snug the day before surgery will now fall off, and I can wiggle out of them with the button/zipper still done.

I've lost the sense of shame & failure that hung around during the period between band out and sleeve done.

According to my daughter, I've lost the baby that was in my tummy. She equates "big stomach" to having a baby in there. A few weeks ago she looked under my dress and told me the baby must've gone away (or something very similar).

I've lost my rubber ducky profile.

I love hearing what everyone else has lost. It's amazing to see what the sleeve has allowed us to lose. There are things that I have lost that I would not have even though about losing before, but I'm glad they are gone. I'll add one of Wheetsin's to my list... "the sense of shame and failure". I lost that as well!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
