I, too, have had three C-sections. While I was sore for about a week after the C-sections, I was not sick. With the VSG, I do not feel sore at all. But, the first week I felt very sick. Just not like myself. It's apples and oranges.

I had a c-section may 27, 2011 and was just sleeved June 26, 2012. For me the sleeve was much easier, a lot less pain!

Good to hear from many of you that it is bearable compared to the c-section. I am now excited again, as I was so scared from many other posts I was ready to chicken out. I had 17 staples with my sections so I really couldn't imagine the VSG being worse.

I have never had a C-section, but I only had pain the first night. I didn't need pain meds after that. Maybe driving on bumpy roads, I held my tummy for a couple of days, but that was the extent of the discomfort.

Thanks to all for sharing about the pain! Curious..... Did anyone half to walk upstairs to their bedroom when getting home from the hospital? All of our bedrooms are upstairs and I didn't know if that would be painful? Thanks!

I have had 2 c-sections and my gall bladder removed. For me the sleeve was worse. I felt terrible after this surgery for a week or so.

I had two c sections and just recently had my sleeve on June 7th. Honestly, the only major discomfort from the surgery I had was gas pains but I walked, walked, and walked some more. And , of course, lived on gas x strips. The recovery from the sleeve is much easier than a c-section. If you are askin which is easier it is SLEEVE by far!!! ;)

I thought the sleeve was a little harder healing than gallbladder, but only because of the hernia repair I had that was quite painful, but really not THAT bad. I've also heard that C section is FAR FAR worse. It becomes a distant memory quite quickly. ;)

I had my sleeve done on June 27th. The first day after surgery I felt great, but the second day I was switched to oral pain meds instead of IV meds. That day the pain I had was gas pain, which can be very uncomfortable so be sure you walk, even if you don't want to, and take the Gas X strips. I am taking it easy and although I am a little sore, I don't have any significant pain. Also I don't have any nausea or cravings. It will help if you make a chart to keep up with your liquid intake and medicines the first week. Without a chart I am sure I would not keep up with everything and probably would not feel as good as I do. Good luck!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
