Wish, If you can find some SF of those ones that are "to freeze", please let me know! I loved those things before surgery and want some SO bad for this summer, but I'm not willing to do the sugared version of them!

I cannot for the life of me find the sugar free popsicles. Are they the freezer pops or do I need to look for something else like in the freezer section?

I am in Ny and they are in the same section as the regular Popsicles, literally right next to them...yellow box and the come in orange, grape and cherry. They also sell luigis sf Italian ices in lemon and cherry.

I found the site that has them and then there is a store locator - http://www.jelsert.com/Products/Freezer-Bars/Fla-Vor-Ice.aspxand the

store locator shows this but it didn't let me choose just the sugar free ones spcifically - only that product in general http://www.jelsert.com/Store-Locator/

you can buy them on this site (which is where the jelsert site leads you to https://mybrands.com/ but you have to buy in bulk and the shipping is like 28 dollars for 14 dollars of the product.

also on Amazon - not sure how this price compares to the regular store ones I can buy at Dollar General http://www.amazon.com/Fla-vor-ice-Light-Sugar-Freezer-Count/dp/B005QDCNLA/ref=pd_sim_sbs_gro_1

I switched to drinking Water out of a toddler cup with a straw. I know there are conflicting views on straws, but for me it was the only way I could get the Water in so I took the risk and haven't looked back. It still feels like a full time job getting enough water in, but it has gotten easier.

I fell asleep with the electric blanket on the other night and woke up terribly dehydrated, worse than a hangover, it was a real reminder of the importance of getting the water in there!

Of course, water also helps with constipation.......

As far as ice pops, I freeze the Water that I flavor with sugar free powder drinks. I just bought one of the "make your own freezer pops kits" you can pick up at any supermarket or walmart/target store, they run about 5-6 dollars. Then you can make any flavors that you want. They are great for the kids too. My favorite are the cherry/lime flavor from target. Have a COOL summer. Adele

Maybe I am unique I can chug water' date=' Protein, broth no problem. I can tell if I have taken in enough and have not felt "too full". Wonder if this is just me.... any feed back would be great![/quote']

My husband has had no problem chugging liquids since a day or so after surgery. He just had two week post op and doc said no problem. For those having trouble, he likes Crystal Light Mojito best with extra fresh mint. Oh and Sonic ice! If you are not from the south, Sonic is a drive-in fast food place with awesome ice! It is small pellets of yummy crunchy ice. :)

I love love love sonic Ice. I get a big bag to keep in the freezer and have it everyday. I take a meat cleaver and gently break it up. I guess it is because I have mild anemia. It is so good to crunch on. So refreshing. I haven't been sleeved yet so I am still enjoying the carbonated beverages. I love the diet cherry limeaides from Sonic and don't forget happy hour 2-4 pm daily with with 1/2 price drinks. Am I a sonic commercial or what??? LOL.

I'm 2 days out of surgery' date=' have just been given a glass of apple juice. Omg. It's amazing. I tried Water but as soon as it went warm it tasted a bit yuk, so now I have apple juice in a glass filled with ice! Yummo! Maybe just try other things like juice or some cordial with your water to ease it down? My surgeon said its common for people to struggle getting water down, but given something else & it's easy :) good luck![/quote']

Wow my dr says no juice lucky u

Electric blanket??? YIKES! lol It hit 105 here a few weeks ago and will stay there or higher til probably September - I can't wait for the days of Electric Blankets again.

I read all of these posts about not being able to drink enough water and I guess until I actually get sleeved i just can't imagine it being difficult but I guess I will soon find out.

I was sleeved on the 12th and it is also very hard for me to get Water down. The gas pains hurt as does the water. I've been switching it up from sf Popsicles, water, broth, and choc protien shakes. It has taken me 2 days to get one shake down. I too feel lightheaded. So I made myself get up and get some water. This is our job now, making sure those fluids get in. Keep trying and if you just can't do it, call the doc. Good luck!

I was sleeved on June 11 and had no problems in the hospital. But since I have been home I feel like I'm not getting enough Water. I average probably 8-10 ounces a day and that's extremely hard to get down. I have to take a deep breath just to get the sip of water down. I'm walking as much as possible but I get light headed pretty quick. I'm worried about dehydration. My stomach still feels like its full of gas. Is that possible? Any advice. I'm trying to sip all day.

Yes your thought of being full of gas is correct try taking a gasx to help. I would sip my water out of a once out cut and refill it every 15 mins to ensure I would drink. And I would continue it till about the third week . I aslo put a time for every hour so that I would not for get to drink water and eat. This takes time it is giong to be hard but be at peace that things will get better.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
