Recommended Posts

I am so nervous and excited. Not nervous about the actual surgery! Nervous that my insurance will decide to not cover for some crazy reason. The anxiety is killing me.

Being in the hospital over a holiday is kind of cool. I've done that a few times and noticed you get the better nursing staff that come in for the extra holiday pay. I was shooting for that week as well, but my PCP is scrubbing in to assist so he had me pushed back two weeks just so he could get his mitts into my guts.

I am a huge fan of my family doctor. ;-)

Wow thats kinda cool your pcp is assisting. My surgeon is new at the practice but did the surgeries in ky, but I've been extremely impressed by his bedside manner, very attentive and genuinely interested in me as an individual, but I found his partner who is the leading bariatric surgeon in the region is assisting, so I'm excited to have two very experienced surgeons with their mitts in my guts lol.

The lady at the desk kinda made it sound unusual that he assists but it could be because of my size and bmi..

I can't believe it's only like 10 days away.getting really anxious.

Well my surgery was canceled, I recieved my denial letter on wednesday, all because the morons at my surgeons office insisted that i only had to do 4 months with the NUT. Well turns out that if she would of listened to me when i told her my plan specifically requires 6 months of visits with the NUT i would not be crushed right now. My only other issue is that i submitted weight histories for 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012. Turns out i was not at a bmi of 35 until 2009. I have now requested my weight history from my Dr. in Florida for 2008 (we had briefly relocated to FL and when we moved back i lost the info for who the dr. was since i only visited him twice i couldnt remember his name) My friend figured it all out for me and the request has been sent. Keeping fingers crossed that my bmi was 35 in 2008. Surgery will be rescheduled sometime in August. Good luck to you all.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
