  1. You look fantastic!
  2. Hang in there this is the worst part! In a few weeks it will all be worth it! Here I am 7 weeks ago and now last weekend
  3. I have found that if you mix it half and half with something else it fine. I sip on half Isopure (I like the berry flavor) and half diet pink lemonade over ice all day and it doesn't taste icky to me at all.
  4. I'm 8 weeks out and have maybe 2 shakes a week. After surgery I could no longer stand the taste of any of my shakes so I just use unjury unflavored in some almond milk with a handful of strawberries. A typical meal now is about 2 ounces of protein - chicken breast, sliced turkey, greek yogurt, cheese - usually 4 times a day. I absolutely cannot eat more than 2 ounces at a time. During the day I sip on an iced glass of half Isopure and half diet lemonaide to keep my protein up.
  5. I highly recommend Dr Garcia. I had major complications (not due to the surgery) and they absolutely saved my life. I don't feel this would have been the case if I had not been in a fully equiped hospital with an amazing staff of specialists right there at my bedside. On-site lab, radiology, etc made difference between life and death for me. The hospital is small, yes, and very modest by American standards. However it is spotlessly clean and they have all the equipment and most importantly, specialists, to do anything needed. If you are looking for a luxury hospital Mexico isn't a good choice for you. If you are concerned with no-frills, excellent care, Dr Garcia is a wise choice in my opinion. Dr Garcia's support staff (coordinator, personal assistant, driver) are all excellent, and I can't speak highly enough about his staff of warm, caring nurses. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me directly.
  6. I can't believe it's almost here! Just wondering if anyone here besides Girlfriday and I are going to be with Dr Garcia on Monday
  7. Me too! Start liquids tomorrow and surgery on the 2nd. Who is your doctor?
  8. I Have surgery scheduled for July 2nd with Dr Garcia and I was wondering what if any pain meds you are discharged with. I have a non cooperative pcp back here at home and I'm concerned about pain management for the first few days as I have a very low pain tolerance. This is my countdown week, just one more thing to fret about! 8 more days, eeeek!
  9. Would you mind telling me the cost? I would love to do this as,well if I can swing the $$$
  10. If you'd like you can contant Melanie the Patient Coordiator for Dr Garcia at Mi Doctor Hospital (melly@obesityintl.com). She can confirm your surgery date and answer any other questions you may have. I contact her for everything now since my coordinator really leaves a LOT to be desired. I certainly would not recommend them but Melanie is terrific. Hope this helps!
