Any Bloodless Surgery Hospitals For Vsg In Mexico

Recommended Posts

Anyone knows any bloodless surgery hosiptals in Mexico. I am suppose to have surgery July 3 but now I am not so sure. All of these months I was told NJ BCBS covers the surgery. Now no one sure. I wont know anything until Monday. I am trying to do research just in case. I really don't want to move my date if I have to self pay. I waited 6 months. I am out of school soon and I can't take days off in September.

Not sure what you mean "bloodless" but my daughter had a great experience with Dr. Garcia and his staff at Hospial Mi Doctor in TJ.

I have BCBS also and it depends on your employeer what coverage they have choosen. My company policy said they do not cover WLS UNLESS you have a BMI 40+ or co-morbs with BMI 35+. I was a 42 BMI with co-morbs so they covered it.

I think he/she means that no bloodwillbe given to the patient. Are you Jehovahs Witness? I dont think you get blood during this surgery, unless there are complications, but you need to discuss this with your surgeon and let them know of your belief system

There are several other procedures that takes the place of blood for bloodless surgery. I want to be extra careful. Bloodless surgery is being done on all reglions better recovery, low risk, and less chance of infection.

So I just read up on this "bloodless surgery". Since this surgery is done thru tiny cuts with very little blood loss plus the instruments used to cut away the stomach stop bleeding as they staple. Unless something went terribly wrong I just don't see why anyone would need a blood transfusion. There are a lot of videos on You Tube showing this surgery. Like azquilter92 said I don't think, and I have not heard of people needing blood transfusions resulting from this surgery. Something would have to go wrong. You should ask any doctor you are considering if they have ever needed to give a patient a blood transfusion from this surgery and why. It's probably pretty rare.

First time I've heard this term, but it sounds great! i wouldn't mind reading some replies to this question.

I will not accept blood transfusions because of my religious beliefs. I made sure that Dr Garcia would honor my wishes in the event of an emergency and he agreed. I am scheduled for surgery July 2 and have provided him with details on blood alternatives that I will accept.

They all do "bloodless" surgery. It's minimally invasive. 4 tiny incisions that looks like a cat scratched you afterward. And like mentioned above, as they cut away the stomach it also staples it. Complications are another thing. In that case none of them can guarantee that you won't need blood or some alternative method.

Bloodless surgery is not just that blood won't be given to you. It is also the procedures used in it place. Most doctors need to be trained and certified as well as have the equipment at their hosipital in case of complication.

I had bloodless vsg here in Houston w Dr. Marvin..yes a surgeon must be trained in this technique, aware of the alternative treatments if something goes wrong, and the hospital should be equiped with things like cell savers. I also started a regiment of EPO months before surgery to build my blood count. Very important that the anethesiologist (not sure if i spelled wrong) is aware of your wishes.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
