Hurting....when Does It End?

Recommended Posts

I was just sleeved on Tuesday' date=' May 29th. I am just a couple of days out, but boy oh boy do I hurt. I feel like I have been beat in my abdomen, then set on fire! It is bearable most of the time, but getting up from sitting position or sitting from a standing position is excruciating. I have also had a couple of coughing fits that REALLY hurt, as did the ride home from the hospital today on our crappy Tennessee highways. How long til the majority of this pain subsides? food is the least of my worries. I just want to feel crappy. Please share.[/quote']

Go buy an abdominal binder..it hugs u tight and helps the pain...its a lifesaver...

The first 4 days were the most painful. I had complications so I'm still nursing one incision that's wide open. Im two weeks out and would be in zero pain if it wasn't for my open wound, all my other incisions are healed and just a tiny bit tender. Hang on, you will get releif!

I hope so. I am REALLY starting to regret this decision! I hurt, and I miss food!. Everything I can have, I freaking hate!!! broth id f-ing disgusting, and shakes are REALLY old at this point. sugar free popsicles and Jello is just more sweet flavors! I am angry, and I don't know why. I'd rather be fat than MISERABLE. Maybe things will get better. If they don't, idk what I will do.

Still hard to get up and down. sleeping on sofa again tonight. Kids asked if I was mad at Dad and that made me laugh. which hurt. Anyway, I am sticking to broth and Water. I can not stomach the Jello or popsiles. I was able to walk a little further today. Hang in there Luwanna, it will get better and the results will be worth it.

I just talked to the surgeon on call. He said it would be fine to have some tomatoe soup! Just really thin. He said it was just important to be on very thin liquids. WTH do they say the extrememly limited crap they tell us? I am so perplexed, but hopeful. I can handle tomatoe Soup. I just hate fruity flavores and yucky broth. I just haven't been eating. I can do the shakes, but geeze......enough is enough!

I was sleeved on the 29th as well and the soreness is tolerable. I just need to stay hydrated. My tongue looked a little yellowish and dry.

I was also sleeved on the 29th :) my pain is very tolerable. Just a little pain under my sternum, more pressure than pain.

Hang in there! Most of the pain subsided in a week. I still have a couple of incisions that are painful.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
