July 4Th Challenge

Recommended Posts

I made my 4th of July goal last Wednesday and decided to give myself a little break. Thursday was my 1 year surgiversary and so just kind celebrating the new me! I'm going to continue on towards my final goal of 120#, so just 10# more to go.

Then it will be maintenance here I come!!! Exciting but a little nervous at the same time.

Ok, the first part of the week started out not looking so good and then *poof*, it started to start happening for me. Hope next week is just as good. I started spinning class 2x a week and Zuma 2x a week, so I'm sure that's helping. 5# weight loss this week!!! If I make it past my goal, I'm just going to keep working towards my final goal!!! Hard to believe I'm this close. It seems soooo close, yet soooo far away if that makes any sense!

Starting Surgery Weight: 271

Current weight: 133

4th July Goal weight: 130

Final Goal weight: 120

UPDATE:

I am now 186, so I've lost 9.5 lb since the start of the challenge and I've got 6.5 lb left to make it to my goal and a week and a half to do it in :) I guess I'm actually right on target for the 4 lb a week loss.

I had a 10 day stall in the middle of this, so that didn't help, we'll see how it goes by then, I'm probably due for another stall soon lol.

Oh, goal #2 - I started C25K and just completed W3 D1 this morning and already sent my paperwork in for the 5K in September. Loving it! I'm almost 30 lb lighter than the last time I did C25K :) 5 years ago.

This week was not a good week for me; I had a fibro flare and a visit from Aunt Flo. I swelled and gained 2#, so this hampered my progress. I was able to take it back off +1# more though. In the end I lost 3#, but I am only 1# lighter. I don't think I will make it to my new adjusted goal now :0/

Last week I weighed in at 146.6 lbs. So, I've made my 4th of July challenge. :) This week I weighed in at 151.2 lbs. Ugggggggh! I can't believe I bounced this much! This week I started off my walking and cutting my Protein intake to 2 ozs of protein (dense protein) and a couple ozs of veggies. Let's see what happens now.

I have been on vacation this week and gained two pounds. I am back up to 149. I am discouraged to say the least. However, I am not giving up. I set my goal to lose 5 pounds in this challenge and I want to go out with at least a loss! I am going to do better about junk slider food and drink more Water. I think that will help me get back on track. I had to eat a lot of not so healthy food on vacation because thats what there was to eat but I also love chips and Cookies and crap so I cant blame it all on that. It was my fault but I also realize that the old me would have gained a lot more than that! I love my sleeve for keeping me under 150 and still in a size 8 comfortably! Whew!

So down another couple pounds this week, should have been more and I know what I need to do differently to make this better. More fluids and up the Protein, I have got to get more fluids in. I have 8 pounds to go in 9 more days, I hope I can do this. We are having a family reunion at the end of July and was hoping to have lost at least 100 pounds. That is four more weeks and 32 pounds, probably not even going to come close but I'll take what I've done so far and Celebrate it!

June 25, still 216. My goal is 8 more pounds. I worked out 5 days last week and will do the same this week. Question-how does upping Protein help you lose weight?

So not as good this week. I was on vacation though. I have worked out the past 3 days so I want to keep that up.

June 19 - 216

Weight lost since starting challenge-7

Goal-208 (8 pounds to go)

On June 20th I reported no loss from the previous post on June 13th. I weighed 196.2 lbs that week. Fast forward 2 weeks to today and I weigh 191.8. That's a 4.4 lb loss in 2 weeks. Woo! Hoo!

My goal for this challenge was to lose 11 lbs.

I started this challenge at 201 so I am 1.8 lbs away with 1 week to go.

Here are my original goals:

1. Get to Onederland-COMPLETED

2. Lose 11 lbs

3. Work out 3-4 times per week (I'm at 4-5 times)

4. Track all my food in MFP (been diligently inputting my food)

5. Get to week 5 of C25K. (I may not make it-I found Zumba and fell in love. However I am on week 4)

New goals:

Same as above, plus I would like to get to 189. So 2.8. lbs to go in 1 week. Fingers, toes, eyes, arms and legs crossed!

Good luck everyone as we end this last week of the July 4th challenge.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
