Want To Hear About Your "smooth" Post-up Recovery

Hi Everyone,

I Am Reading This Message Board For A Little While Now And Am Wondering If Any Of You Bandsters Had A Smooth Post-op Recovery Without Problems.

I Am Scheduled For Surgery On Sept. 7. I Think That It Would Creat A Balance On The Information scale To Hear About Experiences Without Complications After The Lap Band Procedure.

For Example, Any Of You Had Relatively No Pain? Any Of You Did Not Have A Feeling Of Hunger During The Recovery Phase? Did You Return To Normalcy Within A Few Days? Please Feel Free To Share What Would Be Considered Positive Experiences On This Site.

Thank You In Advance For Sharing. I Need To Read Positive Experiences Too...

Ciao... For Now.

I had nothing more than an uncomfortable night - not due to pain but due to the fact that I'd already been lying in bed all day and couldnt sleep.

Went home the next morning and went for a walk with Doug and the kids.

Walked 30 minutes every day after that, was right back into normal duties, apart from very heavy lifting.

It was barely a blip on the radar.

My recovery was fantastic, woke up did the routine and went home. I never needed a pain pill and never really had any problems, didn't have to work because it was Thanksgiving weekend so it all worked out really well.

I was my doctor's first lapband, so the first few of us did the over night stay, now he does the surgery on an out patient basis.

Nothing to it, I wish I had been given the opportunity to have this available to me 30 years ago. Had surgery on Monday, came home on Tuesday, drove to grocery store on Wednesday. I was starving for some s/f pops. IMO, surgery's not as tough as the liquid phase after the surgery.

I had my Lap-Band surgery Monday, Aug 21st. I arrived at 10am and was home at 3pm. I was very sore the first day and took the pain medication given by the doctor. I am still very sore (Day 3), but it is only where the port is. I have consumed water, gatorade, chicken broth, and protein shakes so far. I am not able to consume anything else until Friday (when I get applesauce - yeah!) I am really not hungry at all, just tired. I know that in a couple months I won't even remember this! Congrat's to everyone!!!!
