Last Chance Eating

Recommended Posts

Any June Sleevers finding they're getting it all in before the ax falls?

I find I'm having everything I know I won't be able to eat again. Not a binge, like stuffing. But enjoying my eating.

Is anyone else doing that?

It's probably not a good idea. They told me not to gain weight before the surgery.

I start liquids tomorrow (June 12th surgery date) and I have to admit that I did indulge just a smidge - eating a bit of some foods that are now in the "no zone"... It was, in a way, my formal goodbye to those food items that have gotten me to where I am today and will be like kryptonite to the success of my surgery. This way, I have bidden adieu to some of my former favorite foods and will not let them influence me any more! On to healthier choices!!

I just scheduled my surgery for June 14th yesterday! I must have a few things for the last time! Like this one sushi roll that will not be a part of my diet after. Also, I would love a risotto!

Funny I am the opposite. I am doing high Protein, low carb right now, surgery is June 25th. I figured I have eaten anything I have wanted for so long, that I need to start training myself to eat correctly before surgery so it is not such a shock to my system!

I had a pretty simple last meal with my friends about a week before I officially started my liquid diet. We had awesome mexican and margaritas! But, then I stuck to my diet plan of replacing 2 meals a day with shakes...and dove right into my full liquid diet on time and haven't looked back.

Good luck all!

I've been doing a final farewell to the foods I won't be eating again after surgery. I start my pre-op diet on 6/14 (surgery 6/19) and my husband and I are doing a last meal out Wed. night. We've been going out more since I got my surgery date and spending a lot more because I have been getting what I want. I've also never been real picky about my meals in restaurants (if something isn't completely right or missing, etc.) but knowing it's my last time for most if not all, I've been rather picky. I've been polite and nice but I have been making sure it's exactly what I want. I also had to have my sushi fix! And the wings from a local bar are my version of crack so I'm having them Tuesday. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
