Hey My Fellow August Sleevers...just checkin in to see how everyone is doing, esp. my August 28th sleevers. How are you feeling? How much are you able to eat now? Exercise? Any issues?

All is pretty good with me. Down a total of 38lbs from my pre-op weight. I think I'm slowing down a bit, but not stressed about it. Finally go to my 60 grams of Protein just last week, but still only at about 40oz of Fluid a day, but hey, I'm a work in progress lol!

Started working our wiht my personal trainer last week, and whew! I am out of shape!! I'm sore as I don't know what, but in a good way. I'm determined to gain back some of this muscle that I'm sure I've lost.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hey! Congrats on your progress!

I was sleeved 8/28, I have lost a total of 40 lbs, but that is since I met my surgeon and started dieting. I think since my surgery I've lost about 20-25 of that.

I have a hard time getting enough protein or Water, but I hear that from most. My loss has slowed to about 1 or 2 lbs a week but I had my gym membership and personal trainer on hold since before surgery and it stays that way until December 1st, so I know I'll be losing more soon!

I still have to take acid reflux meds since the surgery (my doc said I would ony need it for a month or two post op)...anyone else still need them too? When I don't take them I get those "gurgles" in my throat (I still get them occasionally with meds but not bad) and it burns without meds when I eat or drink.

Hi. I had WLS on 8/29 and I take Nexium at night and prevacid in the morning. and I Still have burning with some foods

I've lost since 8/28 24 lbs. And from highest wgt 54lbs.

I have so much trouble drinking water I can only drink 8-16oz. My protein is from 70-110 . I still drink 2 shakes a day without them I only get about 40 grms of protein.

I am losing slow and steady. I walk/run 4-5 days out of the wk.

Good luck and please keep me updated of your progress..

OK I was sleeved on Aug 27th. I weighed 341 right before my 2 week pre op diet. I now weigh 268 lbs .... So thats 73 lbs of weight loss... that puts me a little over half way to my goal of getting just a hair under 200lbs! I remember weighing 195 when I was 16 years old! Never would have thought it possible! I weighed 245 when I got married in July of 1982! SO things are going in the right direction!

I have thrown up about 4 times for various reasons ... Eating too fast or "sneaking" a drink after eating ... NOT A GOOD IDEA! I ate 45% of a Gyro then my daughter was drinking a birch beer soda ... I loved that stuff & said ... let me have a sip.... WRONG CHOICE! my tummy was packed with the spicy gyro & then a sip of that ... Well thank God the lady had given us a nice handful of napkins... & Lets just say the gyro tasted better going down then coming back up! OH Well ... Note to self... Don't do that again! Still getting used to this new stomach! People are always asking me how I feel... Sometimes I don't know how to answer ... Evidently I need to take some Iron tabs due to my last blood draw... Well I hope everyone is doing OK ... I think by the Spring of next year we all should be in pretty good shape! God bless you all!

I'm so inspired by everyone's progress!! I was sleeved on 8/29. I was 269 day of surgery and I'm at 218 today. Happy with my 51 lbs!! I was exercising 5-6 days/week but I'm in a rut right now and my weight loss has slowed down these last couple of weeks as a result. I'm on the elliptical right now so all isn't lost. Keep up the great work everyone!!

NSV...had to go through a 'turnstile' today when entering an event. I fit. I didn't have to go through sideways and I didn't have to walk through the walkaround. Felt so good!

Lately nothing tastes very good to me... My stomach is kicking my butt! Anybody having issues with food intake? It seems like a chore just to eat much of anything.... NOTHING tastes that good!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
