August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

Recommended Posts

I am so thoroughly impressed and in awe of those of you traveling so far to have this surgery. What an absolute commitment and speaks volumes about your strength and determination. I realize that the reason for this (some, not all) may be because you are self pay, and perhaps if insurance covered things on your end, you'd be able to have things done closer to home, but the fact that you have made this choice is really amazing!!

I'm just so proud of all of us!!Regardless of how we got here, we are here and by the end of this month we are going to be one amazing group of August Sleevers!! :D

Good morning! I'm back at the condo...I'm doing good and im so glad i was discharged yesterday. I'm still in a lot of pain and still have a lot of the gas pains from them pumping my body up during surgery. It feels like someones stabbing me in the back. BUT its all over! I have 6 incisions, one was from the drain. I'm trying to get down a whole huge bottle of Protein juice today :( That sucks...but owell...On the road to wellness! I just wish the pains would stop hitting me like a ton of bricks and i wish i could get out of bed myself..My mom was the best nurse ever . I'm so glad i had her by myside taking care of me. Unfortunatly shes going home tonight, but ken is flying in as we speak so thats a plus! I hope i can walk further in a day or two so he gets to see some of myrtle beach too. Thanks everyone for all the prayers and well wishes!! ♥

Sorry everyone i haven't kept up with the list. This is my first time on the computer. Hopefully i can catch up with all your posts in a couple days when im feeling better. I woke up from surgery moaning and groaning that i thought i was having a heart attack, my chest hurt so bad from the gas. I was up and walking within the hour.. to try to get rid of that pain.

feel free to copy and paste and add your name to the list, I wont be able to do it for a little while.

Best wishes to the future august sleevers, and congrats to those already on the loser bench :)

I can't believe im already 2 days out!!!

Glad your doing better, take care of yourself...I have tried to keep up with it, the Facebook one should be up todate with everyone and then I add it here to

OK....so I hit a bump in the road...I'm still in the hospital. I had a pin hole leak...n had to go back in surgery Wednesday.... the day I should've went home. I am feeling a lot better n should be home by Sunday. At least it was found before I went home....out of the thousands of surgeries he has performed.. I am his first leak.

They gave me some Zofran which has helped

I bought "sea bands" from cvs, they were with the motion sickness meds...its a Bracelet that has a thing that hits ur pressure point and is good for nausea. helped me alot. i didnt have much nausea

Thanks for the well wishes. I am scheduled to be at the hospital at 5:45am. Haven't eaten all day today of course. I have no idea how everyone did the pre-op liquid diet for 2 weeks. My doc didn't order one I was soo tired and had a headache all day. I drank Water and had sugar free ice pops. I'm still up because I'm soo excited and nervous. I did manage to waste a little time at the mall and caught the Isopure Fruit Drinks on sale for $25 for a case. The Alpine Punch tastes pretty good to me. Just for kicks I bought a goal dress that I hope I can get into by my cruise in December.

Anymore August 10th sleevers still awake?

i got that too... my NUT said i can put in a hawaiian punch/crystal light thing to make it taste better.

Glad your doing better, take care of yourself...I have tried to keep up with it, the Facebook one should be up todate with everyone and then I add it here to

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
