Yeah good luck! Let us know how it goes.

I binged Monday, pretty badly. Also binged Wednesday on my trip. Last night I had a quarter pounder and fries for dinner. I need to STOP this. Not looking forward to my therapist on the 10th because I will need to talk about the bingeing and also tell her I am definitely having the surgery. She is not the most supportive of it. She is the one who asked if I was honoring my stomach. I'm really not sure if she is the best choice going forward.

Echoing in, good luck today Bec.

Misty, is it wrong that I find the whole phrasing of honoring your stomach wrong. Just me, it is less about honoring your stomach and more about honoring your life. I hope she can find a way to help support you through the challenges.

It is weird how your whole mindset changes, or atleast mine has, others may have different experiences. But now adays I dont punish myself for eatting, I have eatten McDonalds a couple of times since surgery (it didnt really attract me pre-surgery either), and dont have the guilt with it. I hope you can find a balance that works for you.

On other news from my end, I have been asked to do an Interview, have an article written about my journey in Thats Life magazine. My old trainer has put a reporter in touch with me and they apparently are really interested in it. Will be interesting the slant they will put on it, but I hope it comes across as a positive empowering story, rather than a last ditch effort. Watch this space......

Wow that's amazing! I can't wait to read it. Do you have the URL of your YouTube handy? I tried to watch it before but it said mobile devices were blocked and I didn't bookmark it to watch on my computer.

I know what you mean about the phrasing bring wrong. I think this therapist is a bit hippy dippy. But I feel a weird obligation to continue with her. Probably just me being nice. She wants me to try acupuncture and things and I am really skeptical about that kind of thing.

Misty, hopefully this will work

The video itself has taken on a life of its own. Pretty much anyone who has ever walked past me has seen it and contacted me. Now I wish I had dressed better for it lol.

Hi misty

Don't beat yourself up over the Macca's - once you have the sleeve, those days will be a distant memory - I am the same as Aussiegirl, I no longer torture myself over bad choices!

I also agree with Aussiegirl regarding the 'honoring your stomach' statement (I think I have already voiced my rather strong opinion on this on a previous post!). I can tell you are a nice person but I am sure the therapist would understand if you decided to move on. You need to get what you need out of it to work through things you are wanting to deal with. I have no doubt there is a therapist out there that is more in tune with the person that you are and what will work for you.

Between Dr Phil and this thread, I think I get all the therapy I need!! :-)

Pops I meant all the best Lessismore! Great you have your date Bec!

Thanks sueoco - I shall store your good wishes up for after my surgery :) I am still running around having presurgery appts. Saw the dietician Jason last week.He was thorough, and, most importantly for me: non-judgemental.Actually all the staff at Canberra Bariatric are lovely. Then I have a barium swallow, blood test and an endoscopy (this one is taking ages and has an additional preadmission appt). If all is well I am booked in for July 3rd for the sleeve.Whew!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
