Lissa VaVaVooooooom!!!!

Birdie, might be a bit of a delay but will come around soon enough :) We will all be waiting for your progress on the other side :)

Dons 2.0 way to keep strong, you are doing awesome, eating out was the hardest part when on the Opti.

An update from me, I am now 20 days post my plastics surgery. Things are finally starting to settle down and thought I would take some progress shots. Still have some Fluid accumulating under my right arms and my butt cheeks (not a place I was expecting, was expecting hips but not to get a weird looking bubble butt), the doctor will likely drain these or some of these when I see her for a progress update tomorrow.

I am waiting at Holy Spirit Hospital Chermside for my friend who has gone into surgery to have a sleeve done. I hope all goes smoothly as I feel a bit responsible for inspiring her to make this decision. I can't wait to see her changing. She started at about 130kg and lost 5kg during opti pre op phase.

That's amazing, Kelli! You will be able to give her so much support too. :)

I know this has been the biggest roller coaster trying to org from Singapore. We have to go to the Doc here tomorrow to have all of our blood tests etc. we would of preferred to have it done in Syd but unfortunately there wasn't enough flexibility. So QLD it is if everything goes OK

Where in Qld? Maybe we could meet while you are here recovering?

Can anyone tell me if they have been sleeved by Dr Phil Lockie from QLD. It looks like the wait in Sydney might be a little longer than we wanted to wait so looking at an alternative in QLD. If you used Dr Lockie can you give us some feedback please.

Where does he operate? I haven't heard of him personally.

Aussie girl thanks yeah was bummed for short period when heard my surgery slightly postponed but okay now just going to continue with pre op diet as I have just now it used to it and don't want to start again! Only like 10 days extra! Will only loose a little more weight before op! :) been 5 days now on pre op diet and lost 3kg! So I figure what I lose is only a benefit to me and reduces my anesthetic risk!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
