Getting Water And Protein In/am I Doing This Right?

Recommended Posts

So had surgery in Mexico 4/20. The price was great but I am quickly finding out that some people seem so much more educated about what to eat and when. Some have a nut to talk to and even had classes to attend pre op. I recieved a hand out in Mexico and the rest of the info I get from here. Not that I am complaining because I am glad there was an affordable option for me.

I am on full luquids. I drink 2 premier (30 grams of prot) twice a day. I eat about 1/4 or a little more Soup for lunch. dinner is about 1/4 of soup with unflavored Protein (21 grams) mixed in. I drink constantly so I get in at min. 64 - 70 oz of liquid (including shakes) a day. Is this what I am supposed to be doing? Any suggestions?

Next week I move to mushy and then on to "real" food. Should I be relying less on the shakes and eat more food? After Water and shakes I don't have much room.

Great question! I'd love to hear the answers too on this as I'm trying to progress from my paper into the next stages and struggling on when to eat what!

Hollirose, congrats on the intake on fluids! You have me beat by a long shot, wtg girl! Now I wanna be like you!

You're doing fantastic, IMO. You're meeting both your Water and Protein goals right now. As you transition to new stages in your diet, you'll rely less and less on Protein Shakes and start getting your Protein from other source, but it sounds great to me.

Keep on rocking that sleeve! :)

:::blushing::: Thanks, LongerLife. It's easy to be positive here because most of the posters are pretty positive! It's nice to be able to tell someone that they are doing well instead of warning them that they could cause themselves problems because of xyz. :) And, there are worse things than sounding like a hippie! Most of them just wanted to live peacefully with one another, man! ;) Oh, and enjoy a bit of herb, but that's a whole different forum! LOL

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
