What I Just Realized

Recommended Posts

Is that I am sitting at the dining room table while my kids are eating their after school meal, and there is a home made flan and a box of Krispy Kreme, and I am ok. If you knew me, you would know how odd that is indeed. I love my sweets. Apparently, not so much anymore. Thank God!

I'm proud of you, Carly, but why is that carbage in the house, much less being fed to your kids?! Do you really want to feed them the same crap that made us all fat?

Well, it's an anomaly really. My five year old asked for some doughnuts last night and we had made the flan for an event, so it's truly a test of my willpower. My daughter just looked at it and walked away- not like her mom. But thanks.

The bionic broad isn't picking on you. She's making a valid point that we influence how our children eat for life. This is a great opportunity to show them that healthy eating is delicious and can save them from enduring what we have gone through.

I'm proud of you and your daughter for passing up the treats, though! :)

Way to go!!!! I know how crazy it feels to realize it doesn't bother you. Yesterday I picked up a meal from Burger King for my husband, watched him gulp it down and actually felt sick to my tunny. Usually, I would want my own burger and fries....now, I couldn't wait for him to be done with it so I didn't have to look at it anymore. LOL Keep up the great job!!!

I cant stand the thought of eating sweets any more. And that's a totally weird concept for me coz I used to be a chocolate addict. Not a single day went by without me consuming chocolate in some form or other. But now, I actually feel nauseated at the very thought of chocolate. I sometimes miss it but I'm happy to pay the price!

i really hope that happens to me.. not sleeved yet but i would love not to crave crap.. i think seeing the results will help.. i would start a diet be on it for 6 months and not see results so I would quit.. plus the chemical re action of not having thecraving button in your tummy relay messages to your brain helps to I am sure.. Ive been able to to go to mc donalds crave the sweet cheeseburger bun but instead just get the crappy fries in a small and go home and eat a turkey burger.. trying to eat a little more sensible before i decide to do this... no date yet.. you all are inspiring...

I hope that people change the way that they eat and the foods we give to our children as they are growing up. I know that we want to make our kids happy by giving them what they want, but it's better not to have unhealthy foods in the house. I know that my adult kids bring home junk food and I have found myself going into my daughter's room and eating some chips. I even went in there and caught myself mindlessly reaching for candy. I was previously tested my A1C level and discovered that my A1C had increased from 6.0 to 6.3 which scared the sh$$ out of me. Yes, I am still diabetic and no, I can't eat junk food. So now I stay out of their rooms, and don't even entertain the thought of eating unhealthy foods. I know that just because I can eat small portions doesn't mean I can eat junk. So everything that's going into my mouth has to be Protein, veggie, and little bit of starches. That's what's going to keep my at a healthy weight. ;)

Yeah, it's really amazing to me that I am not tempted by it. And of course we all want our children to eat healthfully, and thank God that my kids do. But every now and then they will have Desserts and treats. They just will. And it is part of real life for me, us, to be able to have the fortitude to not eat it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
