My Butt Hurts!?!

Recommended Posts

I woke up this morning and my butt cheeks are sore.. It was weird because I felt fine yesterday and didn't go to the gym all weekend, I didn't do any extra bedroom activities so that's out too ;)

So as I am sitting there wondering what the heck is going on I realize I wore heels all day yesterday!!! For the first time in about 2 or 3 years I can't remember. And they were high wedge heels too and so comfortable..

That's a pretty good reason for my butt to hurt..lol

I guess I should wear them more often and give my butt an extra workout..

On a side note it was awesome to go to my Family easter party and not eat myself sick. I had one small plate I picked off of and that was it. Last year I ate so much I felt sick. I have a cousin who is well over 400 lbs and she had eaten so much she just laid back on the couch and let it all hang out. I saw myself only a few months ago and it was very eye opening. I really want to tell her I had the surgery and how awesome I feel but I don't want to offend her and I know I will because that side of my family are very against any kind of dieting and weightloss.. (of course they are super obese) My Aunt once cooked hamburger meat with crisco in it!! I refused to eat it and she didn't talk to me for months. As unhealthy as I was I knew that was too much! No one except my parents, siblings, and boyfriend know I had surgery. It was interesting to see peoples reactions to me. I have lost 46 lbs total now in 2 months. I feel fantastic. Not only did I have an awesome easter I was able to move around and help my daughter hunt eggs and I never felt sick or too full. AND............. I lost 1.5 lbs since yesterday morning!!!

I am so ready for what the future has in store for me..

Merydia,

Really enjoyed your post. Especially your last sentenced. "I am so ready for what the future has in store for me"

To me its always interesting to hear about families that make these large delicious meals that people love to eat that have millions of calories and fat upon fat. When someone (like you) says no thank you to certain fods they get upset.

You are right that usually these families are obese. They don't want to see anybody of a regular size because that might eventually make them haveto look at themselves in a negative way.

In my situation its the opposite, I have 4 siblings and my mom . they have always been normal sized or less. Very athletic as is mom who keeps "mentioning" me being overweight. Every year for my b'day she gives me a weght watchers cupcake. :(

Anyways, instead of my family pushing food on me, they watch to see if i could please eat less. Oh well, what can you do? Well i guess doing the sleeve is the best thing for me.

Glad you had a great Easter, eating well, yet still enjoying your meal.

best to you

kathy

Nice story :) Congrats, it sounds like you are doing fantastic so far!

I agree with Dorrie, don't mention it unless she asks one on one. Be open and honest, you could save her life. Otherwise it's probably not a good idea. This sort of intervention should only be done when someone is in it 110%.

Cheers on your awesome journey!!!

Congrats on your success! My mom has a friend who sounds like some of your family and is literally obsessed with food. She's about 350 pounds (she claims 250, but there's no way in heck I weighed more than her at my highest weight when she's twice my size). She eats four plates at a buffet, plus two Desserts and she's diabetic! She has no interest in losing weight and even goes so far as trying to find doctors that basically coddle her. If a doctor tells her she needs to lose weight or that her co-morbidities are because of her weight (she has to take 30+ pills a day for them), she'll find a new doctor who will say what she wants to hear. It's sickening.

I wish I was balanced enough to wear heels. I'm scared to wear anything higher than one or two inches. Part of the reason before was because my weight. I mean, how embarrassing would it be to walk in heels and one of them break off? Now, while I'm still heavier, it's mainly because I'm so uncoordinated and graceless, I'd break my ankle or fall flat on my face, lol.

Maybe once you get closer to goal, you're family will be more open-minded about surgery or at least be willing to listen to what it's about. They'll be jealous of your success. ;)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
