I am so anxious/ worried u guys. Its sunday and the doc wont be in until tomorrow but ive been struggling with a few things i want to talk to yall about.

First... I have a horrible rash around each incision site and it itches something fierce! So im completly miserable! I will post a picture of it for yall.

Second... I notice my hands and legs/feet go numb when im in certain positions. My hands tingle and go numb when my elbow is bent and when im sitting (using the bathroom) my legs and feet go numb/tingle and if i adjust or move to a different position i feel it go away. Its just wierd!!!! Its happening alot.

Im 4 weeks post op on tuesday and ive hit a stall and that has me down. My anxiety is through the roof and im scared as to whats wrong with me. I keep freaking out about getting a blood clot (they scare me to death) and my blood pressure was 166/102 pulse was 96. :-( im a huge mess falling apart! I need you guys :-(

I had a rash once that was similar to what you have but it was covering my hands. I had the tingling and numbness. It was really awful. I could barely close my hands to zip zippers, type or anything else. When I had the rash it had nothing to do with surgery though.

I went to the doctor and he told me I was having an allergic reaction. At the time their was nothing new in my diet accept for new type of wine I had tried. He said that many times the allergen is never found, but it is often a type of red dye used in many foods.

I'm not sure what you are allowed to take right now but I was bet that benadryl would help you. As you recently had surgery, you may be more susceptible to complications so you may want to contact a doctor right away.

Well, I am no doctor, but it looks like you are having a contact allergy to something. Are you putting anything on your incisions?

Can you call your surgeon's office and talk to the on-call physician? Many doctors will talk to you and let you text them a picture, like what you have posted. That is exactly what my husband did after I had my breast reduction and there was a little redness over the weekend - he texted a photo to the doctor. Maybe that would work for you? I think it is worth a try because you don't want to scratch your incisions.

As for the numbness, have you lost a lot of weight already? If so, you might be experiencing different weight on your nerves. I have neuropathy in my hands and forearms when I lay down, and it comes and goes with weight loss.

Don't fall apart. I think it is typical for people to stall 4 - 5 weeks out. I stalled, gained, and am finally going back in the right direction. I'm 6 weeks out. I go numb in my legs when I sit too long but that used to happen before surgery too and is because of my weight pressing down on nerves.

Ive lost about 40 pounds so far. I took my temp and it was 98.3. I took an ativan to try and calm down. I tried benedryl cream and it wasnt working :-( now im trying cortizone 10.

Benadryl cream doesn't work at all. Take a benadryl tablet... Adult dose is 50mg... But that will also make you very sleepy, so you may want to take 1 tablet (25mg) and see how you do. The cortisone cream may help as well, but take the Benadryl. It really does look like an allergy by the pictures, and I am a doctor.

I had the same rash. It's your body trying to heal the insision sites by attacking them. I even had it around old c section scars bc it was attacking all my scars. Not just new ones. Benedril really helped me. Good luck.

Both are sedating, so just take 1 benadryl and see how you do... But they don't interact otherwise.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
