4/24 sleever. I met with my doctor, therapist and trainer this week. Trainer today actually. Feels great to our weight lifting into my exercise regimen. I have been on a 3 1/2 week stall. All three had the same message for me. Increase my calories to 1200 (currently 800), eat Protein first and get my Water in. I exercise plenty just need to eat and drink. Funny. Seems to be the exact opposite than before. I used to eat plenty and skip exercising. The irony makes me chuckle. Best wishes to all the April sleevers! Keep on keeping on.

Well I have been off here for several weeks. My stress levels have been amped up 100%. I have been in a stall for about three weeks and for the last two weeks I have been dealing with a f/u mammogram with negative results, referral to surgeon, breast ultrasound, then finally last Thursday a breast biopsy under general anaesthesia. Now impatiently waiting for results on Wednesday. Fortunately for me it is the same surgeon. I told him that I had not intendd to get to know him quite this well, he laughed.

My weight has not changed except to go up about 5 pounds - However, today I put on a size 22 pair of jeans and a size 22/24 shirt. The clothes I wore into the store were a size 26 jean and a 30/32 shirt. Not sure how it all works, but I am so thankful.

For all the prayers out there, I would appreciate them for the next few days.

I was sleeved on 4-23 and including pre op I am down 29 pounds so far. I had a stall 2 weeks ago and was a little depressed but then it started coming off again. I am so happy I made this choice. I am finally learning how to eat right. I told my family over the weekend "I have a new body and I am going to treat it right this time "

I am on there. Elizabethsimp. I eat anywhere between 530-730 calories per day depending on if I am full or not. I stop when I am full and try to eat mostly fat free meals.

Yesterday marked 7 weeks since I was sleeved. I'm so pleased with how everything is going so far! It has turned out to be much easier than I ever imagined it would be. The hardest part has been learning my body's new signals, like what signal means I'm starting to feel full, and how to know when to stop eating. I think I've finally figured it out, though! I still have to remind myself to chew, chew, chew (my sleeve is happier when I do) and to slow down and not eat so fast. I had a period of 2-3 weeks enduring the dreaded stall, but once that passed, the weight started coming right off again, like a pound or two every few days. It's funny (and a little awkward) to go out to eat with other people - I eat my 3 or 4 bites and then sit and play with my leftovers and watch everyone else eat their big meals. I'm always thinking to myself, "wow, how do you people eat so much!" LOL I realized recently when I weighed myself, that I will never see certain numbers on the scale ever again: Goodbye forever, 290s, 280s, 270s, 260s, and 250s! I can't say that I'll miss you. This surgery is the best thing I've ever done for myself. I would definitely do it all over again. What about the rest of you April sleevers?

To linkybo you are so right. I was so anxious and a little disappointed, I guess I didn't think. At home I weigh myself with no clothes and an empty stomach. Thanks for bringing me back to reality. I couldn't sleep last night worrying about my weight! LOL

I also experienced this at my Dr's office. I was like what the heck, at home I am X and here I am Y. Made me feel really bad. I keep my home weight as my official weight since I weigh more often there and at the same time of day, etc.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
