It took me 5 days to be able to get up and moving. My abdomen felt a lot better. Few more days and you should be better!

Anti gas meds were a must for me. They gave me a script for some and then once that ran out I used Gas-x strips and chewables...

I think it was a good 2 weeks before it subsuded for me. My hunger cycle is weird. I tend to be hungry at work during the day and less in the evening. I am 6 weeks out and 30 lbs down. I use to be so hungry at night so I am glad that habit has changed. I am still not ready for real food that takes more work to digest like steak. It makes my stomach hurt and I feel like vomiting. I am sticking to Soup mac n cheese, Protein Shakes and Luna Bars, and sugar free pudding. I have not taken my diabetes insulin or oral meds since my surgery!!! And my blood sugars are being pretty stable. I could be off them for good!

I had mine Wednesday and I was up and around within an hour the.only thing that kept me down was the nausea but that passed in 24 hrs. I was up so soon because I have 4 little ones to care for and not much help (the hubby works out of town) plus I'd had 4 c sections so this has been easy. I'm more concerned that I'm tolerating yogart and cream Soups so well. I can eat 6oz at a time and not feel stuffed or sick. I'm hoping that will change with more solid foods.

Sounds like the first week is the worst. I'm not scheduled yet (fingers crossed for soon!) but I love to hear it's easier than c-sections. I've had 4 of those also and they send you home with a newborn.

J.Fabulous - I think our pups are related!

Billie, I had mine last Tuesday. I can down a 10 ounce Protein Shake in about an hour without even putting much effort into it. I tried yogurt the first time yesterday and I was only supposed to eat 2 tablespoons. I ate 3 ounces and had to stop myself because I had gone way over the limit. I wasn't full! I'm with you! I worry I can eat too much!

Linky- the first 24hrs were tough for me after that I havent needed much in the way of pain meds but I have a high tolerance for pain and the meds. They were shocked that even after diluata (strongest pain med they could give) I was still awake. I take the pain meds at night just to stay on top of it and to not be so sore in the morning but I don't see myself continuing that to much longer. The gas issue depends on the Dr. Mine luckily didn't use much so again after 24 hrs and I started passing it I was good to go. I was in the yard yesterday moving dirt and filling holes. So each person is different. I also find I feel better the sooner I'm up and around. I was walking the halls by 4pm the day of the surgery and I had it at 12pm. (Now I'm just milking it hoping my kids will continue their good behavior lol)

Cab- right it terrifies me that the surgery won't work. Im having no issues getting my Protein via Isopure so that's 40oz of liquid plus my Soup is 6oz and my Water and juice in between the only time I can tell I had the surgery is if I gulp instead of sip. I'm really hoping that the more solid the food gets the harder it is to eat so much if that makes sense if not ill be fat forever.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
