lizbeth, I got my sleeve on the 13th. how are you doing? how much liquid can you get in a day? I am still only able to get around 40 ounces of liquid. I get chest pains with sips of liquids. do you? how is your abdominal pain doing? 3 of my 5 incision sites are fine for me, no pain at all. 2 of them are extremely tender (the 2 on the far left...one had the drain. the other just plain hurts, don't know why). coughing is extremely painful for me still. I don't take my pain meds because they make me want to vomit. is your abdomen still tender to the touch? have you lost anything or gained from surgery? I lost 18 pre-op diet but gained 15 back in the hospital from IV/liquid retention. I have lost 10 of them but I'm still 5 up from surgery. depressing! I don't know the timeline for when I should be feeling better and able to get more liquids in. I'd love to hear about your experience so far.

Hi! I'm new to the site, so please forgive any posting errors. I had surgery on the 12th. I started feeling awesome until the left shoulder pain set in last night. So, I'm walking, walking, walking. I'm down four pounds since op on Monday. I still have abdominal tenderness but no drainage, so yay. It hurts to cough, sneeze, etc. but I feel better every day. As for liquid intake- I'm doing the 2 oz of Protein shake every four hours and I'm drinking Water continuously. So far no problems with nausea or vomit just shoulder pain.

Thanks for posting. It's nice to hear about what others r experiencing. I wish u a speedy recovery.

I also had my sleeve on the 13th and felt great yesterday. Today I woke up and my lower back is hurting with the occasional pain by my shoulder blade. Should I be worried about this?

Shoulder pain can be related to the anesthesia. My surgery was on the 12th also. I had the back pain yesterday, today its gone. My surgeon said on my left is a very deep internal suture where they removed the stomach, and it will cause discomfort for quite awhile. My left side is sure uncomfortable, but not enough to take meds. If I sit still, I feel no pain at all.

Thanks for the info. I was worried this wasn't normal.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
