Although I have completed all my weight lost classes I have been having one day after another with paperwork etc. I have been very PRO-ACTIVE when dealing with the doctor’s office and insurance. I'm sorry to hear that but it will happen before you know it. I've lost 10lbs since surgery. I jut can't even believe I went thru with this procedure lol I'm such a wimp when it comes to pain so I've gotten extremely lucky not to have much of it.

It's been a month I feel great! I'm down 35lbs. I returned to work 2 weeks ago. I've been working out (not to hard) since I was 2 weeks post op. Now i'm working out REALLY hard! I have absolutely no regrets. The 1st week was a bit difficult I wanted 2 eat everything in sight because I new I couldn't have it, but I got over it quick. Good Luck to you who are waiting or have already went through it. =)

Hello Everyone, I want to get in on this topic. I'm wondering how you all are doing? I am in the pre-surgery stage with Dr Mary Estakhri at Valley Care. I am 90% done with my checklist & hope to be submitted to insurance soon. Thank you in advance for any info you are willing to share!

So how did it all go? Have you been sleeved? I am trying to get into this program. My insurance company is happy to comply, but I'm actually having trouble getting through to the Bariatric program's office. No one is answering the phone. Should I be stressed about this? I've been considering VSG for 2 and a half years and I am ready to DO THIS! Did anyone have trouble with the office staff getting back to them? Maybe they're just having a busy day.

ETA: They called me back about 2 min after I posted this :-) Derp. I'm already sheduled for NUT & NP (coordinator) visits this Tusday, 2/18, and my surgical consult with Dr. Estakhri on March 7th!! OMG!

Hi Sarah, My sleeve surgery went great on Nov 14, 2013! I have never had a problem getting through to the office. If I have ever had to leave a message they have always got back to me by the next day. They are closed on Friday's. I would not be stressed. I had great interactions & service from everyone involved with the program. I am very happy! Have you gone to the information seminar yet?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
