Honey I feel so bad for you. I had some complications too after surgery but they don't compare to yours. I hope you are recovered by now. Try to get rest.

I am so sorry to hear of your complications. I was sleeved August 1oth 2011. And did not eat again until Christmas Eve! Soft mushies. I had a stricture. Kinda same as a leak as far as plan of action goes. I had a stent too. Feeding tubes. Etc etc. It is very difficult when you are going through it for sure. Hang in there. I know it doesn't seem like it now but, you will be better. You will. These things are fixable. Hang in there.

Hey there' date='

I had the sleeve surgery Jan. 30th, 2012. Went home fine from the hospital the next day - feeling great. Six days later, I am sitting on the couch and experience extreme left shoulder pain and left abdominal pain. I drive myself to the hospital and I have a leak. They did surgery that night to suture the site but the surgery failed. On Feb. 14th, I had a stent put in. I spent 10 days in the hospital. Now I have a pick line in my arm and I have TPN bag that I use on a 14 hour basis (7pm-9am). This is so scary to me. I am depressed, crying. I have to have the stent in for 8 weeks - hopefully it will close the leak. Has ANYONE had this happen? What was the result? While on the pick line I am having extreme heartburn. The doctor said if the stent doesnt work then I will need a 4th major surgery? I am praying it doesnt get to that point? Has anyone gone thru this? Provide advice? I am alone here and very scared. I wonder if I will ever get back to normal. Is their light at the end of tunnel?[/quote']

Please let me know how you are doing now. My daughter is experiencing almost the same thing as you. She is on her 2bd stent, TPN AND feeding tube. Also the drain for infection. She is in extreme pain with the stent and we don't know for sure that it will work. Thus has been hell for our family! I pray you are all well now.

What did they say caused the leak? Was it advancing foods too soon?

No. She had internal bleeding after surgery and it caused the leak. I hope you are doing well. We are hoping this will be a distant memory soon.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
