For me- only my husband and doctors know. They are all very supportive about my decision. Nobody else will know. Not my parents. Not my siblings. Not my friends- nobody. I'm not at all ashamed of getting the surgery, I just have ZERO desire to hear people's opinions on the matter. As a mother of three I've learned that everyone has an opinion about everything (natural birth, csection, breastfeeding, formula, exersaucers, etc, etc, etc) and listening to opinions is just as annoying as constantly telling people 'thank you but my mind is made up'. I'll be very honest with everyone who asks about the weight loss- I am restricting my caloric intake and working out like a mad-woman. Which is indeed true, zumba and cardio kickboxing start on Monday!

Way to go! next Feb 14th. You will be reflecting. Nice that yo have someone to share with.

Last Thursday, I had my last appt for my medically supervised Weight loss requirement. 6 months worth. I lost a total of 27 lbs. The Insurance Coordinator sent it all into BCBS Texas.
Now, I'm waiting.
Logically I can't see how they would deny me, except for the fact that for 2 of 5 years of weight history I didn't have a weight recorded. One of the years I was pregnant and they won't use that year. Then in 2010, I didn't go to the Doctor. I was embarrassed that I weighed over 300 lbs and didn't want to get a lecture and I wasn't sick. They can plainly see what my weight was in 2009 and what it was in 2011. It's not like I lost and gained all of it in that year.
So I wait.
I so want to start this journey to Tif 2.0.
One thing I did find out is that my surgeon does not require a pre-op diet, but I want to do one. I'm thinking of starting next week. Does anyone have their guidelines that they could email me?

I am still pre-op, and I've always had the opposite problem. I've been carrying this ever increasing mass of extra weight for 15 years. It took that long to really skyrocket, then level off for the last 6 or 7 years of it. When I look in the mirror, I still see the skinny, sexy me trying to peek out from this weird suit I'm stuck in. I feel like one of those people in a movie that's wearing a fat suit with the makeup and all- "GET ME OUTTA THIS THING!!! NOW!!!" I am so eager to see that person slowly reappear in the mirror!! I don't see "me" when I look in the mirror. I see a prisoner. Through the Lord's providence- Dr. Kim will set me free!!

Hey everyone HAPPY FRIDAY!!! I don't like feeling bad on Fridays... LMAO!! Well okay, I don't like feeling bad ever, so if you're anything like me you'll always look for little bits of happiness in an otherwise tough journey. So, what are YOU doing today to make your dream happen... that is besides having weight loss surgery.
My goal right now is to STAY at goal!!! So, today I am gonna hit my elliptical and make sure I'm getting my Protein and Water in. Yayyy!!! Goal is awesome.. and I encourage all to get here!!! WHOOHOOO!!!
One last thing, I sure missed all of you the last few days. Glad to be back up!

Excellent! So happy for you! Being close to goal sure feels even better than I dreamed. But, you will find out for yourself.

You women are truly inspirational! I am getting sleeved on weds. and I'm really excited! My biggest problem seems to be my brain, I keep obsessing that the surgery will not work and I will go through all this for nothing. Your posts really help me, thank you!

Posting new pics to Facebook so that your friends "might" recognize you on the street. Oh, and walking right by my ex and him having NO idea it was me!! Lol

Just totally hated it when I tried on my 18 year old skinny daughter's low rise jeans and they fit me so well she gave them to me...UGH...it was just awful! I am actually wearing them in my signature picture...isn't it just horrible?!
