Perhaps people have asked this before, but I can't seem to find anything on it. I got my surgery 18 days ago and I was receiving heparin. The one nurse stuck me the wrong way on one of them and I started bleeding a bit. Now I've had a HUGE bruise on my belly and in that same area now is a hard lump which hurts from time to time. I'm worried it might be a hernia, but I hoping maybe it's normal for this to happen after having heparin shots? Someone help! =[

I HAD A BRUISE AND A BUMP FROM THOSE SHOTS TOO. WHEN I WENT TO THE DOC 2 WEEKS OUT HE SAID IT SHOULD GO AWAY AND IT DID AROUND 4 WEEKS.

i never had any difficulties with the shots in the belly, but the incision site on the left had a raised area that fit in the palm of my hand. It was nothing, it went away about 2 months later. A hernia is where there's a weakness in the muscle wall and there's inside organs protudind out through the weak spot (or hole) in the muscle. I learned that by researching. You probably don't have a hernia, but have the doc check it out.
