My surgery was Jan 24th and I'm going on the 3rd week of my all liquid starting Tues. I am to drink 3 Protein drinks/day recommended by my dr for 3 weeks. They total about 70 g/day.

I think I'm allergic to it. Can someone recommend a good tasting high Protein Drink? And where to find it.

Hi...my surgery was on the 23rd!! The best tasting high Protein drink I have found is the Liquid Premier shakes. They offer 30 g protein in an 11 oz. carton and come in chocolate and vanilla. I actually like the taste of them, although I wish I could find the strawberry flavor!! The Premier website sells them, but is out of strawberry currently. costco has them in chocolate & vanilla for about $24.00 for 18 cartons. Hope this helps.....best of luck to you!!

I, too, drink Premier Protien (chocolate). I like the taste AND it's convenient because it's ready to drink. I pour mine over ice because I like it super cold. The truth is, however, that everyone's taste is different. It took me a while to find one I liked. The problem with buying a case of them at costco is if you don't like them, you're stuck with an entire case. So, maybe buy a 4 pack online and see if you like them.

I drink the Pure Protein rtd cans. They have 35 grams per 12 ounces. I use the vanilla ones in my morning coffee. I use a half a can per cup of coffee so I sip on them for an hour or so. I don't like the taste of any I have found but when I mix these with my coffee its like I have a great tasting mocha-ish drink! :)

I too use the pure Protein brand of pre-made drinks in a can. Walmart has the Choc and Vanilla kind..or you can order different flavors online

I haven't had my surgery yet, but I heard about the Premier Protein shakes and actually purchased a case at Sam's club. haven't tried it but it has HIGH Protein like 30 grams or something. I will try one tomorrow just for the heck of it. :-) still wondering if they can be purchased individually someplace

Premier Protein shakes are really good!!! Love the chocolate and vanilla! If you want to order the strawberry, go to Costco.com and order them online. I haven't had any issues getting in all my Protein for the day at all.

Try contacting the company. I live in a very small town...actually a village. I was more than happy with paying $2.29 each until lo and behold my grocer started carrying them at $1.79 each. I try to leave one or two behind because there are a couple of others that buy them too. Best Protein drink EVER! Shamrock farms is the name on the bottle. Hope they catch one.

For my pre opt I used the GNC Lean 25 , come in vanilla choc, or strawberries and cream. The strawberries and cream was my fav. Cannot drink them no more became sick of the taste , but started off good. I do the Vitasport Protein 7 now vanilla flavor, it is 34 grams of Protein in one scoup and you can mix with many things. I get the Vitasport from Nutri shop. Good Luck. :-)

I love Rockin' Refuel! My son had gastric sleeve in April of this year and he was telling me to try them. The only store that carries it in WNY is Tops supermarket. They are always out of them. Today, I asked the dairy manager if I could order 2 cases and he said YES!!! They will be in on Thursday!

Great stuff!!!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
