  12. Good evening from frigid WNY! I was sleeved on Monday, February 9th, 2015. On my first day home, I was getting in 2 Protein shakes and sips of Water. Each day I added something. sugar free, fat free pudding made with Lactaid skim milk, low fat cottage cheese and have dealing well. Today, being one week out, I added a third Protein shake. Plus, 2 - 16 ounce bottles of water (sipping throughout the day). I was able to walk the treadmill twice. Each time 10 minutes. Nothing strenuous! Stay focused! Take care! Nancy

  14. I was sleeved last Monday! One thing I wasn't was scared! It was my decision to have the surgery. I did a great deal of research prior to the seminar. I'm not looking back, only forward! Stay positive! Getting out of bed as soon as possible and walk, walk, walk! Helps tremendously! Best of luck! We are here for you! Nancy
  15. I use BariatricFusion chewables multivitamins. Easy to digest. Especially made for WLS patients!
  16. Sleeved on the 9th. Looking forward to summer and wearing smaller clothes. Not wearing a 2X..... Keeping up with our grandchildren. Feeling sexy at 61 years of age! Attending summer wedding in sleeveless dresses! Not having between the thigh ! The list could go on ....
  17. My surgeon has me taking milk of magnesia. I had to stop taking it daily due to it causing diarrhea. One thing you dont want is constipation! I had surgery on Monday. Take care! Nancy

  20. I am 60 years old and was sleeved on 2/9/2015. I will be 61on the 17th. I am doing well since I was discharged Tuesday evening. Here are few things to keep in mind to be better prepared while in the hospital: 1. Remember your sleep will be interrupted, once every shift a nursing assistant for blood pressure, temperature, pulse ox. Then the nurse to check incisions and to give pain mess. 2. You will find numerous electrodes foundon your body that were left for you to remove. 3. You will need to get up and use restroom, first with help and then , you are on your own. 4. Walking is enencouraged to help with gas and blood clots. 5. On day of discharge you will be visited by case management, dietitian, and pharmacist. 6. My surgeon saw me 3 times a day during my brief stay. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! Best of luck! Nancy
  21. Sleeve is tomorrow! I'm so excited! Bag packed! Good luck to all! Nancy

  28. Got the call today that I have been approved by my insurance company. Surgery scheduled for February 16th...Good luck everyone!
  29. Hi! I understand your frustration! According to my surgeon's office, my insurance precertification was submitted on September 12th of this year. I've checked with my insurance company and they have nothing on file. I called the surgeon's office and it is pending! Someone isn't telling the whole truth! Friday, I called the surgeon's again and was told it had to be resubmitted. Do you think it never was submitted? I do! However, I am hanging in there! Don't give up! I realize how hard it is to have patience. You will get there! Think of the whole journey and not that you are not there yet! Time is on your side!!! Take care! Nancy
