So this may sound strange. I am just over one week post-op and got the drain removed today, which....yuck....awful experience. I feel better with it removed, but I have this really weird feeling when I move. When I try to lay down on my side, I can actually feel my insides moving.....and they move differently then they used to. Its like something is trying to fold inside. Has anyone else felt this sensation?? Trying to figure out if this is normal.

I didn't have a drain, so I can not respond to as if this is normal. Maybe you should call your doctor's office tomorrow and ask to speak to a nurse. Usually they are happy to answer questions.

Congratulations on being sleeved - I have no regrets.

I had a drain and developed an abscess which followed the drain line. I would call doc and let them know. I do not recall any feeling of insides moving around.

Let us know how you do. And keep up the great work on your weight loss!

I felt the same way. It was so weird... Like a bag of marbles. I wore a compression binder and that helped. I even wore it while sleeping because laying on my side it felt like in insides were falling out. Eventually it'll feel normal again. It took a few weeks for me. Congrats on getting your sleeve! U will love it! :-)

I remember feeling my stapleline at my left incision site l time. I didn't have a drain. It was different. ;)

I had a drain for 8 days and don't remember feeling any movement after it was removed. It may be normal, but I'd call the doc just in case.

I had something similar and was told by my dr that it wasn't uncommon to feel slight movement while things "settled" back into place. I'm not sure if I felt the same thin you're feeling and I agree with the other posters, if you're unsure give your dr a ring. Good luck to you! :-)

I am not sleeved yet, but I remember feeling this for months after my c-section. It was almost like a baby kicking-lol. But my doc said it was everything "settling down" after being moved around.

Called the doc today and he said it was nothing to worry about. :) Thanks everyone for responding to my post. I was having one of those panicking nights last night, thinking that my insides were moving around inside. You all make me feel so much better.

lying on your left side is normally uncomfortable for about 4-5 weeks. It gets better all the time. It is the staple line side of yoyr stomach. Things are shifting too because of the new void.

I had this too, it resolved at about 3-4 weeks. I noticed it most if trying to lay on my side, also. Weird, huh?

Very weird. I was finally able to lay down last night (fully....not in a recliner) without my incisions hurting. I always considered myself having a pretty large tolerance for pain, but I think it is turning out that I am not as tough as I thought I was. Slept in my bed for the first time last night since surgery. Laying on my back was fine, but when I tried to roll over on either of my sides, I found I had to bunch up the blankets to support my stomach cause of that weird feeling.

That is totally what I had to do. In the first couple of weeks. even with a little pillow supporting it just would get too achy and I would have to move back to my back. But no issues now at all! It will pass. Our guts got rearranged, thats all :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
