United Healthcare Approval Bmi 35

Has anyone else had experience with United healthcare? I was told a bmi of 35 for five consecutive years would be approved (with one comorbidity.) My bmi fell below 35 during this period, so my doctor said it would not be approved. Has anyone else had experience with being approved with this insurance company?

I am approved but i have three comorbidities and I have a BMI much higher than 35. What I do know is they are one of the few that approve the sleeve

I really hope you get approved

You should call the bariatrics dept for UHC, I have UHC as well. They assigned me a case manager and answered all my questions about coverage and the process. They told me they go based off of the starting weight and BMI from what I recall. I have the Choice Plus plan.

Give them a call, they can best help you. Good luck! The number is 1 (888) 936-7246 and it's the bariatrics center for United Healthcare.
