Swallowing So Much Air When I Drink

Does anyone else have a problem with swallowing a lot of air when drinking/eating? I'm about 3 weeks post-op and still on full liquids, but I swallow so much air that I'm constantly burping or having gas pains. It's really uncomfortable.

Any hints?

are you sure the air is from swallowing. I had gas in my stomach for many weeks after the surgery, i had to take prilosec for the gas. It got better and I still take prilosec. ;)

I'm a week and a half out, and asked the nurse about this pain when drinking yesterday. She confirmed that it comes from "gulping" instead of sipping, because I take in too much air. So I'm trying to be more mindful about sipping.
