I had the sleeve gastrectomy on Dec 7th. I was on the pre op diet for 2 days before surgery (depending on the doctor) and on the clear liquids for 2 weeks. I just got changed to the full liquids. I feel great about the surgery and was only in the hospital for 3 days. There has been some pain, but it is normal and tolerable. I hurt only when I try to get up and bend over. I have lost 18 pounds so far and have been following what I need to do. I am a little tired of the liquid diet though. I am not craving any food and am not hungry at all. I can't wait to move to stage 3 and try soft foods. I don't regret having this surgery and am looking forward to a happy, healthy life. I hope this helps and good luck to whatever decision you make.

I had a lap band done in Oct. 2009 had complications the entire time I had it with leaking. In july of 2010 I had it removed due to erosion of the band into my stomach.

I was just sleeved on Dec 16th. With the band I had around 30 fills, a revision surgery which didn't fix the leak and ultimately caused the infection that I had.

A wonderful resource about revision is Tiffykins- search for her posts or message her. She is a great advertisement for the benefits of revision to the sleeve.
