Re Engauging The Couch To 5k.

Recommended Posts

I have been out of commission since August and it's driving me crazy!!! I have been really moody and feeling under the weather since then. I miss my running!! So, starting Sunday I'm RE starting my Couch to 5K running plan. I can't wait! It should be a lot easier this time around than the first time... haha! I've gotten some much slimmer legs so that should help a lot!

Though I have done a little here and there, but have only ran one full 5K in between all my down times. In those getting back into it, I've noticed taking a break of a few weeks or more and I have to recondition my muscles all over again. So... but this time I won't have to stop!!! YAYYYAYYYY!!!

If anyone would like to join in, that would be great. Good luck!

First day back on the treadmill, going full steam ahead with the new plan and no worries I'll have to stop anytime soon.. SWEET!!! I'm still in a lot better shape than I originally thought. That's always nice. ;)

DId you start back at week 1 or did you start somewhere in the middle? I haven't done it since October but I've just gotten back to the gym this week for 2 strength classes (and OW I am sore!!). I'm thinking of starting back on week 3 or 4 and seeing how I do with it . . .

I did start with week one. I could've started at 3 or 4 probably, my first sessions were really easy. But, no rush - I've got nothing but time, so I just decided not to skip ahead.

I just did my first day of C25K today! I probably haven't run since I was in my teens. I did OK. My neighborhood is not completely flat so one of the times of running, I slowed to almost a crawl because it was uphill. On the flat I did fine. Now to just motivate myself to do it two more times this week after a day of work. I will be glad when it stays light out longer. I guess that's when a treadmill would come in handy!

Congrats to you all!!! I have one signed up for next month. I doubt I will be able to run the whole thing, but I'm just ecstatic I will be running again period! :)

yay, did some random jogging for the first time ever this weekend, then found c25k, and did w1 d1 today, 3 consecutive days in I'm sore, BUT so far I've increased from 1.8miles to 2.2, and from 4mph to 4.8, so although I feel shattered, and like each effort has been sorer and slower than the last, the stats don't lie, and something is happening :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
