So I'm trying to gauge if what I'm feeling is normal, but my left side where I assume that my stomach is is still very tender and if I move in the wrong direction I feel like my insides are being ripped. If I'm sitting it's not bad at all. Walking is a little painful, but not overly so, but no bending over, no stretching my left arm. My right side, if it wasn't for the incisions, I wouldn't even know I had them. I don't feel them at all.

My doc said to let him know right away if I had a left side pain.

My doc calls full liquid, Protein Shakes, Soups, greek yogurt, sf pudding as long as I add Protein (need 60-70gm/day) and as long as there are no pieces. What does your doc allow on the full liquid phase?

Soups not creamed and with only Protein Powder added, protein shakes with Water milk or yogurt, broth, Jello, milk, Meal Replacements, yogurt drinks, oh and I was allowed pudding or applesauce only for taking my pills. If I had to blend it to make it drinkable then it was puréed, whatever I ate had to come in a liquid form

THANK YOU! :)

I did email my surgeon this morning and he got back to me a few minutes ago and said it's all normal, don't push it and take some liquid advil 2 times a day for 3-4 days. He said in a few more days it shouldn't be as much of an acute pain as it is right now.

How long are you all on Clear Liquids, then how long on full? I was told two days clear but it's a week out and I'm still doing it because I don't feel ready though I added Protein Shakes. Do for me one week out I'm doing broth, tea, Isopure, Water and Protein shakes. I have zero real hunger and occasional head hunger but it's getting better. There are so many food ads!

I was on clear liquids for 2 days, but did them for 3, but I just wasn't hungry at all so I didn't drink as much as I should've and now I'm a little constipated. Passing gas just fine, but still constipated. I started full liquids yesterday and took some plain greek yogurt and blended in 1/2 a Protein shake and drank that for Breakfast and tolerated it fine. For lunch and dinner I had some Cream of chicken Soup with unjury unflavored Protein made with skim milk and that went down just fine too.

I haven't had any issues with gas pains or nausea (KNOCK ON WOOD). I know I need to increase my Water intake. I do well when I remember, but it seems there's chunks of the day where I just forget.

I do know that my head is craving scallops. It's almost like I'm pissed at myself I didn't have a 'last meal'. I told my hubs that when I'm healed and can eat regular food I'd like to go out for good scallops. I'll take 1 and he can have the rest. LOL

I was sleeved on 1/17/12 and I cant seem to get my Protein Shakes down... I can drink liquids fine and I have have tried everything under the sun... I started with a choc shake from muscle max, then Isopure from GNC (gross), then the vanilla shakes from costco (was ok at first)... How the heck can can I get Protein in??? I was thinking about trying an unflovered powder and geek yogurt with some fruit and make a smoothie...

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
