I am in tears here! That is so cool! Thank you so much for sharing. You have a great looking son, and he wears the uniform well. I grew up in the military, and would be so proud to see my son and daughter go into it myself.

Congratulations! MY hubby graduated from there in 1995. It is a very nice base. Such a proud experience I am sure. Makes me miss military base life!

I cried thorugh it, don't even know him but I'm so proud of him. My son is meeting Friday night with his recruiter. I at first told him NO, he could not, I would not hear of it, he's 6'8" and I was just not ready to loose my baby boy, but, after much consideration, I told him I could not keep him from doing in his heart what he thought was right and to defend his country. I've done cried a bunch but I'm afraid that it's just beginning.

You have a gorgeous son and I know how proud you must be. Tell him that a lady in Kentucky said Thank you for defending my freedom.

Donna - that was an awesome montage! I cant imagine the pride, fear, worry, hope - that a mother goes through during this transition.

God bless him.

...and yes, my eyes were full of tears.

Thanks everyone! I was a Navy wife in my "previous" life and it didn't work out to well for me so this is not what I wanted for my son. I kept throwing this kid out of the nest and he would not FLY!!!!!! Lol

This was his decision and I figured if he made it through the first week without punching out his drill instrutor, he would make it through the rest!

I am very proud of him, and the good thing is he is proud of himself!

He is on to his first tech school in Biloxi......

Donna congrats on that handsome guy. What an honor for you.

By the way what was his DI's name? My sister-in-law's son is a DI down there. Just curious.

I KNOW you are proud and rightfully so. I shed so many tears when my son graduated from Coast Guard bootcamp 3 days after 9-1-1. For his first 2 years, he served in the Honor Guard in Washington DC. Sons can make a mama cry.......especially when they are in the military. Congratulations!

Thanks for sharing! I have been to two Navy graduations and I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated seeing your son graduate from the Air Force! My two step-sons are in the Navy and the ups and downs do bring tears and anxiety - and at the same time tremendous pride! It's good to know so many wonderful men and women are willing to fight for our country! You obviously raised your son well - be proud!

Donna,

My MIL had 3 boys - all 3 enlisted in the Army before they graduated high school (gee, this may say something bad about their homelife :phanvan although it really was a good one). I totally support our military AND what it teaches our young people.

Self discipline, respect for authority, responsibility, independance, order - and - Pride in being an American!

Im proud of you Momma.

Youve raised a good boy - one that makes wise decisions!

His instructor was a woman! That is kind of why we figured he would do ok. He hated when men got in his face, but he was used to his MOTHER doing it LOL

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
