In class we did talk a little about Stevia/Truvia. The Instructor said those sweeteners were originally meant to be a supplement, not necessarily a sweetener. She didn't say wether or not they can cause problems. I think too much of anything can possibly cause issues. What I do now is add one packet of Splenda and one packet of Truvia and it works for me. I don't really use Splenda/Truvia any other time of the day.

I started bootcamp Tues. and have been doing pretty good. I was stuck with a couple pounds back and forth. It's only been 4 days and I've already lost 3 #'s. That's good enough for me, since I got past that stall point. Will continue for another few days. I will do this once a month to keep myself on track.

I started boot comp this Monday 12/17 to get back on track for the holidays. I weighed this morning and I was down 11.4 lbs!!! This really helped get my focus back on the basics and what my new stomach needs instead of my wants. I am going to continue it until Christmas eve but even then I will hold on to what I have learned. Thanks for this posts!

*hugs*

There will come a moment where one will realize that the sleeve is nothing more than a small stomach. Our brains will still operate the same way it did before. The whole not wanting to eat feeling only lasted for me for about 4 months. After that I still had to deal with all the same need to eat feelings I ever did before. I couldn't eat AS MUCH of it' date=' and that was the only difference. Now there are even slider foods that I *can* eat as much as I could before. I have to really watch my portion sizes with those. Just something to look out for.

Don't beat yourself up! You are human!! We are living the same flaw, but please know as long as you really do the best you can, you can keep it muffled most of the time. I have to trick myself to keep me from eating bad foods. I now have myself on a eating schedule, much like a baby would be. Monday through Friday I'm still logging my foods, and I eat ONLY at certain times of the day. I just work really well like this. I'm a type person where I thrive under order and regimen. I cannot live life by the seat of my pants, because left to my own devices I will usually choose the wrong answer.

Here's my suggestions:

[*']Get yourself off the bad carbs/sugar.

[*]Do really low carbs like mentioned in this diet. It will help ease the cravings for it.

[*]Log everything! I use www.myfitnesspal.com - I am Lilmissdiva_Irene there, send me a FR! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

[*]Once those 5 days are up, get back to a healthy well balanced eating plan. Protein first, then veggies and a few bites of good complex carbohydrates for your solid meals. Keep logging!!

[*]Do not eat past 7 PM!! It's just not good, and believe me, I have a hard time with this one too. I am really trying hard to stop that.

[*]If you do not already, begin some type or workout routine. Even burning an additional 500 calories per day translates too an extra Lb of fat gone forever every week that you would not have lost otherwise!

[*]Find a regimen that works for you. Here's mine, Monday through Friday I avoid the "C"s... that being:

candy

Crackers

Cakes

chocolate

Cookies

chips

Cereal

pop corn

Ice Cream

I do not log on the weekends though but please note, I am not trying to lose weight. If you are still trying to lose, then maybe leave yourself only 1 free day per week.

It's NOT easy!! I stress this all the time, but never ever forget - YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!

I'm SO glad I found this!! I have been at a stall for 6 months! The 5 day pouch test did not work for me at all!! I have a couple of questions. I apologize if they were already asked. How many oz's of meat and oz's of veggies per meal? Are you drinking milk as part of your 128oz of liquids? Do you snack at all? If so what kind? would you mind showing me a sample of a menu for the boot camp?

I'm going to start this Monday when my routine is back to normal.

I get lots of questions regarding how to get back on track. This journey is tough' date=' and one thing I've learned is that I'm not perfect - but if I'm going to move past that I have to figure out how to forgive myself. For me, the main factor in my obesity was my inability to overcome this. So I would give up and gain all my weight back, and even more. I cannot do this to myself!!! I have to pick myself back up and keep it moving. I didn't go through 2 torturous painful weight loss surgeries to just keep giving up. Heck no!!!

So, along my Sleeve Journey, when I noticed I wasn't doing well and needed to get back on track this is what I did:

The BASICS BOOTCAMP:

For 5 STRICT DAYS I will eat only...

Proteins: Seafoods, Poultry and eggs, Dairies, nuts/seeds including Peanut Butter.< /p>

Veggies: Green only.

Fruits: None.

Breads/Cereals/Other Carbs: None.

Fluids: One gallon of Water (128 oz.)

Protein Drinks (RTD or Powder).

Avoid: Sugar and Sodium

Once the 5 days are over, I am pretty much over the Sugar Carb Demon. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate carbs! I do need them to live a healthy life and since I workout a lot it is important I have them. However, I need GOOD carbs. Whole grains, fruits, veggies... But I don't need processed sugars. White carbs, in cereals, breads, rice... etc.

Lots will do the 5 day pouch test. http://www.5daypouchtest.com/ Great! To each their own. I personally do not do this. My first reason is because I don't have a pouch. I have a sleeve. The second reason is because for me, this has proven nothing but torture for me. I don't feel like I should have to do that. My personal program works just as good without that side effect. The only reasons I've ever done liquids only is simply from being threatened with my life (post op) or if I'm just feeling sick and to let my Sleevie rest. That's it.

Good luck everyone! This journey is tough, but nothing worth doing is ever easy. Xoxo

Thanks for sharing your Boot Camp. I'm kind of in a rut, my first plateau. Which I shouldn't be upset about, I'm 6+months post op and have lost 100 lbs. I'm starting Boot Camp tomorrow!!!

I'm in a similar situation and am starting this tomorrow evening with my (non-sleeved) husband just to kick-start my metabolism again. I'd describe this as my first plateau too, and I'm 100lbs down and 6.5 months out.

I hope the bootcamp worked well for you!

Thanks georgia. I just though there was something that said What 2 eat at each meal. So I guess we can just pick any of those foods & work Them in anytime. Is that right?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
