I know how you feel! My fridge is full of Jello and my freezer is busting open with sugar free popsicles. LOL Usually the doctor does know best, I have been on a pre-op liquid Protein diet since Sept I have hated it and have fallen off the wagon many times. I know now that my doctor did it because I needed that amount of time to really be ready for my surgery. I have to do 2 days of Clear liquids prior to my surgery.

Good Luck.!

My doc didn't do any pre-op diet either, other than the clear liquids the day before, and they've been doing sleeves and DSs for around twenty years; I'm not going to argue with him!

My surgery is tomorrow and all my doctor told me was to do clears one day prior and nothing after midnight. Much different from the Lap Band. I'm fine with that.

Sounds a lot easier than what I am doing. My surgeon wants 2 weeks of bariatric advantage protein shakes (3/day), bariatric protein bars (2/day), 2 bariatric chewable vitamins, plus optional salad with 0 calorie dressing as desired. Clear liquids the day before surgery. The end of tomorrow will bring me half way there! THEN, after the sleeve, it's back to bariatric shakes and chewables for 2 weeks. This stuff tastes nasty. Worse products I've ever tasted - I've wondered if this is my doc's sense of humor toward his patients... lettuce never tasted so good! :)

I went in for my final consult and appointment on a Wednesday and was expecting 2-4 weeks to prepare. They had a last minute opening on the following Monday and the Dr said I was fine with just 2-days liquids. I took it upon myself to make that last week count and went full liquid for 4-days. His only real requirement of me was the Magnesium Citrate the afternoon before and nothing after 7pm.
