Sleeve after minimul success with Lap Band?

I have been banded for a year and have only lost 40lbs. I now weigh 300lbs.

I follow the diet fairly well and exercise and not sure why my loss has been so little. I got banded in Dallas and now live in CA. The doc here suggests I consider the bypass because of the malabsorbtion but I think I would prefer the sleeve.

Has anyone else had the sleeve after an unsuccessful band?
