6 months today...before and afterWell in a few hours here on the west coast it will be the 18th and that will make it 6 months since surgery for me. E

Today is 6 months since surgery for me. Everything has went pretty damn smooth so far. No complications, no insanity, just nice easy weightloss...thank god. I'm now off all meds (diabetes, high BP, Cholestorol) and I feel much better. In my before pic I was wearing a 3x sweater and size 48 jeans. In my photo from today 1x top and 38 jeans..Some days I look in the mirror and see the old me, and some are a little easier. I think I've always kinda pictured myself as the really big guy even when I wasn't close to that weight..I'm not sure what goal weight I really have, I just want to keep doing what I'm doing and when my body is ready to stop I will be happy. I've been going to the gym 2-3 days a week, and have regained some muscle and strength that I have lost through the years of my lazy life style. If you are on the fence about surgery feel free to hit me up with any questions because I would love to help anybody find the happiness that I have found being freed from all of this excess weight.

Wow! You look amazing! I was only sleeved this week, but after all of my up and down dieting I definitely understand what you mean about not seeing yourself clearly. I lost 40 lbs before surgery and I swear I look the same as I did a few months ago. My mom and my family can see a difference, but me? No way. I think it is partially because i've been at this weight before and I feel like i'm "back" to where I was before, not like I've lost any. I'm hoping that this will change as I lose more and more.

Also, congrats on being off of your meds! That is an even bigger achievement than the weight loss in my book!
