6 months today...before and afterWell in a few hours here on the west coast it will be the 18th and that will make it 6 months since surgery for me. E
Yeah I wish they made in between sizes like 37 or Large and a half because it always seems that I'm stuck between one or the other. I'm to self conscious to wear the size thats a bit to tight so most of the time I'm wearing my clothes a bit baggy. Thanks to everybody for the nice compliments.

Today is 6 months since surgery for me. Everything has went pretty damn smooth so far. No complications, no insanity, just nice easy weightloss...thank god. I'm now off all meds (diabetes, high BP, Cholestorol) and I feel much better. In my before pic I was wearing a 3x sweater and size 48 jeans. In my photo from today 1x top and 38 jeans..Some days I look in the mirror and see the old me, and some are a little easier. I think I've always kinda pictured myself as the really big guy even when I wasn't close to that weight..I'm not sure what goal weight I really have, I just want to keep doing what I'm doing and when my body is ready to stop I will be happy. I've been going to the gym 2-3 days a week, and have regained some muscle and strength that I have lost through the years of my lazy life style. If you are on the fence about surgery feel free to hit me up with any questions because I would love to help anybody find the happiness that I have found being freed from all of this excess weight. High Weight 380? Surgery weight 363 Goal 190ish...Current 5'11 250lbs Tonight @ 250lbs Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us 2008 @ 380? Maybe more..terrible. Great NSV, and great attitude about getting back on track. The last RN I had before I was discharged looked like she could be your little sister.

Scared and Not telling anyone
I was scared of dying and leaving my wife and kids alone, but by the time of surgery I was pretty well at peace. I thought about leaving letters but I decided against it, why I don't know, but I just had faith I was going to come out of it fine. I got on to the operating table with a sense of peace and said a prayer. I don't know if you are religious at all but this really helped me.

12 days out and doing good.
Forgot the NSV's that I have had so far... Looser fitting clothing already! I am wearing a T shirt that I bought and wore once 2 1/2 years ago because it shrunk. Now it fits! Fitting into booths at restaurants! I have taken the kids out to eat a few times and I already fit into booths that my gut used to drag on! My knees can already feel the difference!

12 days out and doing good.
I'm now 12 day post op and I'm just about back to feeling normal again. My energy level has improved each day, and I don't tire so easy with walking. I spent 3 days in the hospital because of an unexplained fever, which sucked because it's hard to really rest with nurses and aids coming in and out of your room so frequently. So far I have tolerated everything I have tried easily.which in my opinion has been a blessing. Also so far no heartburn, nausea or other complications. I have to thank god for it being such an easy journey so far. If anybody has questions I am more than willing to answer. I would love to pay the board back for all the useful information it has provided me.
