Went for my consult, surgery booked!

Hi Gang!

Well, I did it! I went for my consult on Thursday to see Dr. Mumford. I booked surgery for August 31st. He was one of the nicest, empathetic people I have ever met! His nurse Marie was so lady like and friendly too.

They let my Sister, Husband and Niece all pile into the room with me, bless them. My husband, who had reservations, was really impressed and is convinced now that I'm doing the right thing. I paid the $200 consult, $500 deposit, and I bought the Optifast.

Stressing about the money now, but will tweak the budget as much as I can!

I told him about my work problem and doctor's notes, and he said that he would write a letter on his general surgery practice letter head, and would say that i needed the day off. period. ( I have vacation booked after that)

I have to buy a blender, too, as I havent had one since about 10 years ago when one of my teenagers (they're grown and gone now) tried to make a milkshake out of just ice cream, nothing else! and burnt out the motor. Little bugger.

I don't have a family doctor, so now I have to find walkin clinic that will do the physical.

Sorry for rambling, but I'm stoked!:biggrin1:

Oh btw, I have to change my weight ticker, I weight 230, not 225:tired Oh well.

Mandi your so smart. Yes, it's that perfectionist, game-playing, even-numbered, head-game, every-has-to-be-just-so, virgo-ism in me. If I just end up at 150, then it would only be 197 pounds lost, 200 is PERFECT:wacko: . Yes you SHOULD pray for me on Sunday:) ..lol.

haha... it doesn't say it in my ticker, but MY perfect goal would be to get to 142, so I could say I lost exactly half my weight. :) :)

Well I used to be 5'6", but apparently I have shrunk to 5'5"

Glad I'm not the only one.:rolleyes

I wonder if we'll get our inch back...? lol

BTW, Can't wait to see you land in Twoterville...you're rockin!!!

A lot of heavier people lose height, the weight pressure compresses our spines. Can you get your height back... some claim to have with exercise like pilates and yoga which focus on stretching and lengthening the body. I haven't checked my height to see if I've shrunk or not, I am going to do pilates and yoga though.
